So many Prospect D-men, need help choosing

Post by Finny »

My pool is pure offense, no +/- or anything for D-men. I am working on my list of prospects that interest me at defense. I've got about 6 but I could only really take 2. As far as offense who do you like guys? Thanks for any input.

- Jakub Kindl
- Ryan Parent
- Andrej Sekera
- Cody Franson
- Kris Russell
- Tom Gilbert ( not so much a prospect as he has had some time in the bigs)

Again this is based on points totals, got some projection guesses?

I know Kindl challenged Staal for the OHL Defensman of the year, and he did well for the Grand Rapids Griffens in the AHL during the Playoffs.

Actually, you should scratch Kindl. He's good enough to make the Wings 3rd defensive pairing, but he'll still stay in the AHL. The Wings have this one guy (Meech) who has to clear waivers to go to the AHL and they're afraid he'll get picked up by another team, so he'll be getting that last spot on defense.

Dion Phaneuf on the Flames is a great D prospect, although he is in the NHL right now, and can be pretty tough to trade for unless you are in the first season. On my Wings season, I have him and Marc Staal (still in the minors), so I'm ready to have the best D pair in the NHL in a few seasons :joy:.

Not sure Finny...are you asking about a real life hockey pool or EHM?

I'm thinking it might be a pool based on EHM.
