				Create A TBL Star!(Entry Closed)

The 2nd of today's community competitions is Create a TBL Star, where users are placed into an EHM game to see how their careers unfold. Users will pick their attributes, positions and their starting junior team and then EHM will take care of the rest!
To enter:
Fill out
this Excel File then copy and paste into this thread.
The offensive & defensive attribute limits are dependent on your role attributes, so the higher the offensive role, the more offensive attributes you are able to assign.
The excel file shows you how many attribute points you have left in each section, so it should be pretty easy to setup your player.
Each player starts with current ability 50 & potential ability of -15, which assigns them a potential ability between 110 & 190. This means that some users could be NHL stars, but they could equally be as likely to be AHL players etc.. In our tests we've found that the majority of users will get some NHL experience and about half will be NHL regulars by the time they're 30 years old.
Each player is also assigned the birthyear of 1992, so they will be 13/14 at the beginning of the game.
In the Excel file there are 2 cells entitled Junior Club & Junior Preference.
Junior club is the club you initially start out with, at age 13/14, and has to be chosen under the following restrictions:
From North America, your junior team
MUST NOT be from one of the following leagues:
NHL
AHL
ECHL
CHL
UHL
WHL
LNAH
QMJH
OHL
US College leagues
It can be from the Canadian Midget leagues or the US U16 leagues, or the NAHL.
From Europe, your junior team
MUST be from one of the junior leagues(e.g. British juniors etc..),
NOT from on of the top leagues(DEL/EIHL etc..).
Junior preference is in the editor, in-game it will say 'Aiming to play Canadian major junior hockey'(if you put the Major option). So after a few seasons you will end up in the Canadian Major leagues, and similarly for European & College junior leagues.
I will post updates at the beginning of every month, during the season, and then I will also report on any moves over the off-season I'll be looking to do a season every week.
Users may also request a trade/move once every 3 seasons, I will take over as your teams GM and then offer you out to everyone in the league. You will be able to choose which club you want to go to, as long as they offer for you!
I will be making the saved game available at the end of each season so you can control your own career if you want, or alternatively I can make the database available as well.
The Excel File can be found here:

Now it's time for me to create the next Sidney Crosby...

Don't worry about any short-term deadline to get your players in btw, I'm going on holiday tomorrow so you've got at least at week to get them in

Feel free to use it, just bear in mind that it was intended to create players aged 13/14 so the attribute limits may need a little bit of tweaking

				Great idea, Calv.
I may have to go against my will and be unrealistic, though. I did this with myself a couple months ago, and I went as realistic as I could with my player... ...he was so realistically unskilled that he retired after only about a week.

LOL! Don't worry about that. We're all on even footing when creating our players. If you look at the spreadsheet you'll see that we all have the same number of attribute points to work with. It all varies on how we allocate them. The only part that's really going to make players range from below average to above average is the random potential.

I hope mine turns out better than Stinson's, then
What North American junior leagues can we use? I was going to go for NCAA but see that we can't use that. I've gone for the British Juniors but wouldn't mind switching to North America

North American midget leagues look like the ones with the right age group, or the US U16 leagues

I'm a little confused on the College/Junior choice.
1. Is this choice where we start or where we want to end up playing our amatuer hockey?
2. If we can't select US college leagues, does that leave only Canadian Universities?
3. One choice is "Major Junor", but the OHL, QMJHL & WHL are all off limits. What other major junior leagues are there?
I would like to end up playing for the University of Michigan in the CCHA, but would probably start in the NAHL. So how would I record this?

Sorry about the confusion, I have edited the original post so it should be a little bit clearer.
unfortunately I can't control the GM of the Uni of Michigan, so I wouldn't be able to move you there. I can suggest that you select your junior club as a team in the NAHL and then put your junior preference as College. That way you are most likely to end up playing in the US College leagues

I'd really avoid NCAA teams all together. As was stated in another thread, the development there is really poor. It could stunt your player's growth.

I believe everyone is getting the same potential range. It's -15, which is supposed to be a variable where you could be an really good NHLer or maybe a minor leaguer. A lot is left to random. It's really the only fair way to do it. Otherwise, we'd all be stars.

Sbufkle: That wasn't my intention, by no means

. I just don't want to be drafted by a pretty weak team in a few years down the road.

That might ruin or limit your future NHL career!
