Hey,
I just thought I would let you people at TBL know what I have planned for the next couple of weeks, probably months, now the RSL Card Pack I was working on with Devils88 has been finished.
Card Packs Planned:
- Switzerland National Liga A 2007/08
- Switzerland National Liga B 2007/08
- Switzerland Staff Pack
- French Mangus League Update v1
- ECHL 07/08
- CHL 07/08
- QJMHL 07/08
- Italy 07/08
- Latvia 07/08
- Possible RSL Update v2
There'll also be some logo's along the way at some piont. As well as the database update I'm currently working on for Lidas.
So there you have it. What I have planned for the next couple of months. If anyone wants to give me a hand doing anything, then that would be grand.
Later

It's nice to see some of the lesser mentioned leagues get some attention for a change. This will really add a lot to our games. You've got some real good projects planned there
Good luck. And don't forget to post if there's a player pic, etc that you can find or you want a second opinion on something - there's plenty of people here that are happy to help.

Is there a quicker way to make them work with the original birthdates. I know there's some sort of renaming tool and it will be quicker than editing them individually...

http://www.ghisler.com/download.htm, because it has a multi-rename function, so you can do it all in one go, by copying:
1959|1960|1961|1962|1963|1964|1965|1966|1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|1973|1974|1975|1976|1977|1978|1979|1980|
1981|1982|1983|1984|1985|1986|1987|1988|1989|1990|1991|1992|1993
into the "search for" box, and:
1957|1958|1959|1960|1961|1962|1963|1964|1965|1966|1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|1973|1974|1975|1976|1977|1978|
1979|1980|1981|1982|1983|1984|1985|1986|1987|1988|1989|1990|1991
into the "replace with" box.
Obviously, you're going to have to add dates pre-1959 if you have staff pictures for anyone older.
Hope that helps.
NOTE: Some of the players may need there names changing to show up, as the Lidas 2008/09 DB has unfaked the Swiss league.

I can't make that work...I can get to change the first part, but the second is an epic fail. Any suggestion?

Sorry but I don't. I haven't tried it yet. I'll give it a go when I come home from work tonight.

A little while ago I edited bobmacgoo's post so that it didn't stretch the forum post too wide. I basically put the 1981+ and 1979+ dates on a separate line of text. Perhaps when you enter them into the software you need to make them one line of text.
Sorry, I don't know if what I said makes any sense

What's the order of the packs that you are doing Andy?

I was going to work on doing; DEL 08/09, followed by Swiss NLA 08/09 update. But I was also going to do The ECHL 08/09 at the same time.
Moving on to other countries/leagues when these three packs were done. Why, if you don't mind me asking??

No particular reason, just curiosity.

I have to say that I have a HUGE set of cards good for having an all around update 5, just too lazy for packing it.
I might do it later eventually

Awesome.... My packs are making rather slow progress due to my involvement with Lidas' DB.
I'll get back on track once I have finished with my section of the DB update on Saturday.

Ok.. So I know this technically isn't a TBL Card post. But I'm not a fan of starting new threads.
But anywho.... Whilst doing some of my TBL DEL 08/09 card pack I got bored and started to fiddle round. I was trying to find some way of adding the teams logo to the card and I came up with these. There based on a Hockey card set from 2000.
Single Picture
Dual Right
Dual Left
If people like them and there is enough intrest in the cards then I can start to produce card packs like this. That is if people want me to and if people like the cards...

They look great to me.
As much as i love the cards as they are, might be nice to have a new look to certain leagues and players.

Thanx. I was thinking of changing them a little bit. By having the country flags behind the player name. Just like they are in the current cards now.
I'm also thinking of using the colours of the team as the background colours... so in the examples I have shown Alder Mannheim would have a blue and red background, instead of the black and white... whislt say the Philadelphia Flyers would have an orange and black background. Its something that I think would add a bit of iduviduality to each card and each team.
But Getzlaf thanks for the reply... Slightly off topic but great work with the Logo's. I was going to request a few but I feel bad as it would be alot. Keep up the great work.

Andyjayp, I really like your cards!
The black and white background looks fantastic, i don't think there's a need to change them to team colours.

Thanks, go ahead and request them. I feel that because others contribute with things. I need my way of contributing too.
Back on topic: I'm not sure if the team logos are a good idea. I think they look good and it's a good way to take up that white space, but after a season, most players move to different teams.

Ok... So I was bored and done another two sample cards. The one on the left is using the Adler Mannahiem colours (blue & red) and the one on the right is just a different version of the original cards I posted.
selne wrote:The black and white background looks fantastic, i don't think there's a need to change them to team colours.
Thanx. I think so too. But I had done the one on the left before I read youre reply.

Regarding the team logo's: Its quite a few mind. Thats why I feel bad.
Anywho back to the topic at hand: True. I had already thought of a way round this dilema, although it means alot of work. I was going to release updates for the packs I would of done, with the players' new team logo's and a new action pic if I could find one. If that sentence made sense to anyone. I think its does.
Thanks for your positive coments getzlaf and selne. I really appreciate it. You never know how people are going to take the things you do when its different from the norm i.e. The TBL style cards.
