I did a search and only found an explanation of waivers.

The question that I have is why do my players always clear waivers? I've placed some really good players on waivers and they always clear. It's not so much that I'm complaining that I'm able to put players on waivers, but it's just that sometimes there some players that I want to be picked up off of waivers. I feel that they're good enough to be taken off of waivers, but they never are and I'm stuck with their contracts unless I buy them out.

Is this a glitch? Before anyone answers, I'm patched up to 3.0.4 and I've removed the NHL salary cap and opted to go with the team salary cap instead.

How far into the game are you? If you're past 2009 (sometimes even sooner), many teams are pressed up against the salary cap and they aren't able to claim your players off of waivers because of their big contracts. It's kind of like the same reason you would waive a good player. You want to get rid of their contract. It works both ways.

I don't think I've ever gone past two seasons. I usually get frustrated because I did something wrong that really messed up the team so I start over. It's just that I remember in EHM2005, good players always got claimed and like I said, I'm not using the salary cap. I honestly don't ever remember a player getting claimed off of waivers in EHM2007.

I'll keep playing and see if it ever does happen.

I don't even play the NHL actively but I've seen plenty of players travelling accross the continent due to waivers.

Must be just weird luck on your part.

I very much dislike waivers, and will try and trade a player for even a 7th round pick before I give them up for nothing.

What I'd suggest, is keep an eye on the other NHL teams, and if a team has a playr injured for the long term, they'll place them on the IR, and then they'd have some salary cap room for a replacement. Either dump the player on waivers then, or try to trade them for cheap.

Waiver question.

I recently traded a low round draft pick for Doug Janik, who went straight to my AHL team.

Upon trying to recall him to the Coyotes I had to place him on re-entry waivers, which I did. He cleared waivers but is still in the AHL team. I clicked on recall to Coyotes again, thinking he'd just move across but it told me he had to be put on re-enrty waivers again.

Anyone any ideas? I didnt leave any time before him clearing and trying to recall him, I did it straight away.

If they are going on re-entry waivers, you have to call them up while they're on re-entry waivers otherwise you'll have to place them on it again. It's a useful tool if you want to piddle someone off and then have them negotiate a buyout with you.

i never use waviers unless i have to.. i normally trade the player for a 1 start prospect. some end up getting better but most are no better than anhl or echl players
