As promised, the poll for Challenge 11 will give you the choice to vote for either the NHL or the Canadian Juniors. We will then run a further poll with a choice of teams based on whether users voted for the NHL or the juniors.

Before we get the polls under way, we would like to hear your suggestions as to what possible teams we could choose for the challenge. Thus, if you have any suggestions for NHL, OHL, QMJHL or WHL teams then please post them in this thread.

Please note: This is not the actual voting thread. This is just a thread to suggest teams that could be put into the poll.

By the way, you can suggest rule changes here.

Prince George Cougars. Portland Winter Hawks. They are both absolutely tough to use. Middle of the road: Lethbridge Hurricanes, Kamloops Blazers, Kootenay Ice.

Easy (first year) Red Deer Rebels, Vancouver Giants, Everett Silvertips.

A building team in the game, like in real life are the Spokane Chiefs.

These are my WHL choices:

Portland, Lethbridge, Kamloops, Brandon. One from each division.

Hmmm, I think it depends somewhat on wether we finish the roster update or start the challenge with the older one. Since I'm working on the OHL I'll give my opinion on those teams in a while, need some more thinking first.
I have never played with a junior team on EHM so it would be really interesting

Trust me...it does not depend on that in the Dub... :-D

i would like to see a Canadian juniors challenge. It would be different.
I personally don't know enough about the Canadian juniors to suggest a team.

I think NHL challenge wouldn't be too good until the 08/09 roster update was completed.

(of course i had my career opportunity suggestion. with possible scoring, got a lukewarm response  )

I'm afraid I have no interest in the minor leagues. For the Majors however. I have to suggest the Edmonton Oilers. Especially if we don't have a good update (without Gange, and updated stats for Penner etc.) Beyond that, I think Toronto may be interesting to Play. They really do have a rebuilding roster right now. Vancouver, might also be interesting, not nessesarily rebuilding (even though they need too).

I've been thinking a little and it's hard to pinpoint a perticular team as I haven't played Canadian Juniors on EHM. Of course it wouldn't be as much a challenge to pick one of the stronger teams like say London or Belleville.
My choice would be a team that has some quality players, but isn't too stacked. I'm gonna name three teams that could be fun to play with,
Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Barrie Colts and Niagara IceDogs.

Any thoughts?

Now that it is clear we're playing juniors(unless 15 voters come in at the last minute) I'll update my suggestions. Since we're using TBL 1.5 I don't want to use the IceDogs because they have moved on. My other suggestions still stand though; Soo or Barrie

I'm biased towards Sudbury.

But if that's the team you've played with a couple times before, wouldn't you want to try a different team?

I'm also thinking that if Vancouver is the host of the Memorial Cup, we shouldn't use them. We don't want to make it in our first season unless we earn it.

Seeing althought most people are leaning towards the WHL and OHL. I'll suggest the QMJHL. Maybe someone with a rich history such as the Sarnia Sting (who were dominant under the name the cornwall royals).

On the contrary, maybe a team with little history and that we can build to be superpowers! I'll say the Saint John Sea Dogs as they are 1 of the 2 newest teams in the league (along with St. John Fog Devils) and normally have first overall pick in the QMJHL draft. So good prospects to work with there.

My vote is with the Sea Dogs!

So on this board we have

1. Alot of people who have played in the OHL, or know a fair bit.
2. Me in the WHL area, as well as CatchUp
3. Some guys who know some stuff about the Q

No to whoever is hosting the Mem Cup at the start of the game (Giants??..please someone confirm). If we have a team that somehow gets to host the Mem Cup in someone's challenge game...oh well so be it. It would just be a sign of that teams success.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Sure, it's going to be a challenge for a lot of us playing with a league we've never played but we shouldn't make it too easy on ourselves either.

Agreed, I have played with both Sudbury and Kitchener in OHL, for me personally I think I'd like to try the W or the Q, if we do go with a team fromteh OHL you may want to stay away from Oshawa, unless we all want to start with John Tavares on the team :)

Gah...posting too quick, I know I had a long season with the Wolves, but I think it might be deleted now I'll have to check when I get home. But if I remember correctly EHM doesn't actually pick new hosts for the Mem Cup it just cycles the last WHL, QMJHL and OHL hosts which would be Vancouver, London and Rimouski (I think. I'll double check to see if I have an old save of that career somewhere and if that's the case I think we should stay away from those three.
