Challenge 11: PLEASE READ BEFORE COMPETING

We are pleased to announce the start of our first non-NHL Challenge: St John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)

As this is our first non-NHL Challenge and as many of our users have not played in the Canadian Juniors before, we have done our best to make the rules as simple as possible. It has always been the case that we only introduce new rules if the Challenges are not "challenging" enough or a user is exploiting a loophole. In order to make things simpler, we have tidied up all five of the rules threads in attempt to avoid repetition and to ensure clarity. We have also given each rule a number so that if anybody has a query regarding a rule, they can quote the rule number.

To make the QMJHL Challenge as simple as we can, we have removed the following rules for Canadian Junior League Challenges (please note that these rules still apply to NHL Challenges):
  • There is not a TBL Budget to adhere to. There are no salary caps whatsoever to adhere to. This means that the "Regular" and No Trade / No Budget rules do not apply.
  • Core and Home Grown players are not used in Canadian Junior League Challenges. Your team may be composed of whoever you like.

Some important points to take notice of are:

1) The no trade period is from 15 June - 30 September. If a trade is not confirmed, and the traded for player is not on your roster by June 15th, the trade cannot be completed. Further, we know it takes a few days to make a trade in most cases, so there should not be any confirmed trades on September 30th in your game.

2) The number of games for each recording period (i.e. quarter) in the QMJHL are as follows:
Quarter 1 = 17 games
Quarter 2 = 34 games
Quarter 3 = 51 games
Quarter 4 = 70 games

The only screenshots you need to provide are the following at the end of the season:
* Year End Team Stats/Standings
* Year End Player Stats
* Playoff Schedule/Results (unless you recorded zero playoff wins)

4) When starting the game, you can set the start date to the Canadian start date (15th Aug)

5) No trading of any Import Draft Picks

I strongly suggest that all competitors browse through the five rules threads so that they are familiar with all of the rules that do and do not apply to this QMJHL Challenge. I have done my best to make it clear in each thread whether rules just apply to the NHL or OHL/QMJHL/WHL.

WE ARE STILL USING TBL:DB v1.5 ROSTERS: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/dl ... ile_id=470

Lets get this Challenge started! :D

Many thanks to Manimal for pointing out something I'd forgotten to mention:

4) When starting the game, you can set the start date to the Canadian start date (15th Aug)

5) No trading of any Import Draft Picks.

And guys...please please please remember...the quarters are 17 games, not 20 lke in the NHL challenge...so post after 17 games in the stats forum as archi said above.

I suggest saving and keeping a copy of your game at each quarter point, until the end of the challenge. 17 games 17 games...repeat to yourselves 10000 times so you remember. I know I am gonna forget!! :-D

The way I read the Challenge Stats Recording thread, we only had to post year end screens for the QMJHL challenge. AM I wrong?

Nope. You are correct. But you have to post stats every quarter, and I would keep screen shots around of everything! Just in case you are asked to back things up. For example, if someone ends up with Kenndal McArdle...we may likely want to know how that happened.... :-D

Is it allowed to sign your "unsigned prospects" within the non-trade period?
