Good question, never tried it personally, but i don't see why it would crash, as long as the same amount of teams are in the league and division, i don't think there should be a problem.
I'm sure someone will know for sure though.

Yeah, you can move teams around via the pre-game editor without any problems. As long as there is the correct number of teams in every division, of course.

Moved to Game add Ons and Such Forum.
We are aware of the fact that our Editing forum has a somewhat misleading name by it referring more to graphics and add-ons, but nonetheless this is the editing / add-ons forum, this here. Yup.

You would have to create at least one division. I would be suprised if that's possible!
Also did you forget the Sharks and one of the New Yorker teams? You have only 28 teams on your list.

San Jose would be in the West and the other New York team in the Northeast.
Some Divisions have more then 5 and some less then 5 but that would make it Geographical and should be that way in real life.

Two reasons why that set-up won't work, no matter how geographical it is:
1. You have seven divisions. The NHL in EHM is hardcoded to have only six divisions total. Cut one of your proposed divisions and you'll be OK.
2. You have three teams in some divisions, four teams, five teams, and six teams. The NHL in EHM is hardcoded to have no more or no less than five teams in each division.
It may be a better divisional distribution, but the game can't handle it, so it can't be done... ever.

I guess I will get rid of the Canada Division and rename the Canada teams to USA City Team names.

Having a problem when trying to load a game. I haven't renamed a NHL Division but tryed to Northwest to Midwest but didn't like that so Northwest is back.
Now it says can't find Dallas Stars Index but they are really the Hawaii Beachers,Calgary is Portland,Edmonton is Seattle and Alaska is St. Louis my team.
Every Division has 5 teams in it. Orlando was Washington and Cinncinati was Nashville are also new Teams.
Gets to second I. the Game and stops and wants to go back to Windows.

Create a team and name it "Dallas Stars™". I'm not sure is this working, but try this.

I renamed dallas Stars to Hawaii Beachers.
Still have 32 Teams in the NHL League.

Still have 32 Teams in the NHL League.
Which I guarantee won't work.
As for renaming the Stars, that won't work either. I believe the index needs to see a team named the
Dallas Stars™. To get around this, leave the Dallas Stars info completely in tact, but clear their division and league info in the editor to make them extinct. Then create your new team using the Stars' division and league info.
