Why can't EPL teams sign anyone outside of Europe?

I have not played EHM for years. However I started having a go with it this morning after updating it. I started playing as Bracknell Bees in the English Premier League. However I am not allowed to sign anyone outside of Europe. Why is this?

I'm no expert on English hockey, but I would guess you have a foreign player maximum rule in the league, and you can only have a predetermined number of non-EU players in your team. You propably have already the maximum number.
Check your league rules.
This rule is quite common in European leagues.

This is what the roster rules in the league info say:
"Max 4 foreign players on roster
Max 0 non-EU players on roster"
That means that you can sign players from outside EU, but only if they have a EU-membership, I found some players in EPL that is for example canadian/dutch or canadian/italian.

It's to do with the real life rules of the EPL, although its not 100% accurate. The league in real life has some kind of limit on International Transfer Cards and some restrictions on which leagues/countries imports come from. Something like that anyway! IRL, teams can ice a maximum of four 'non-British-trained' players per game. I think because the rules are stricter IRL in the EPL than the British Elite League Sports Interactive opted to make it EU-only in-game to make it as realistic as possible. Hope that helps!

Yup. I usually opt not to reply to messages where my answer would not be
100% the answer they were looking for, because I know our community is filled with expertise from every corner of the hockey world, and someone will always know the exact answer to the question, as shown here.
Yay for TBL!
