EHM 2005 Development Question

Hi guys
I am commissioner of an ehm 2005 league.
A poster recently made a startling assertion that caught us by surprise.

He suggested that players CA/PA can fluctuate depending on news in the game. He suggested the following:
Coach/GM praises news item raises the players CA +10
GM/Scout has doubts about player PA -10
None scouted player scout praises PA +10-20
GM? Player not worthy of ice time CA-10-20 and PA-10-20
Fans unhappy with Player on Roster CA -20 / PA -20

camp notes
not worthy of future look PA caps off at +20 on current CA maxed at 11x x= player style see editor or ehm readme/web guides
needs time to develop no change to CA, PA +0-20 depends what the rest of the line says
Ready to step in CA raised 10-20 and no penalty to PA

These were what I was able to find in about 2 hours of google joy followed by 4 hours of trojan/spyware cleaning afterward, darn web link to unsecured sites
Truth?

Never heard of something like this. But it's a long time ago that i played the 2005 version of the game. I think if this would be true a player could fluctuate into a zero in no time. And it never happened ot my team that one player would drop so quick. :-k

Couldn't you find this out with the Saved Game Editor?

Complete nonsense. I tried to talk Riz once or twice into introducing some variability to PA via occasional random adjustments, but it never happened. And the numbers he's suggesting are ridiculous - 20 points off CA just because the fans are unhappy with a player?

I believe the only variables that affect the player's CA are things such as:

* his PA (this sets the ceiling limit that the CA may reach)
* long term injury
* training
* age
* game experience

Think about real life: If a respected journalist said Ovechkin was awful, do you think his performance would then suddenly drop?

Agreed.
But real life/ehm two different things.

Thanks for answering. It seemed unlikely to me.
