When playing online, when you advance there's a countdown of about 5 seconds. Is there a way to extend it ?

No. That's hard-coded into the game.

How do I start up a network game between friends. I've gone in, and gave him my I.P Address but it always says he cannot join. Is there anything special I need to do

I actually have a couple of questions. Sorry if questions are already answered

1) What specific skills are you guys looking at when choosing players for penalty shots? Or are you possibly choosing players that played well during the game?
2) Will it be considered to add more skills? Like for example backhand shots? Or even make the hidden skills non-hidden?

This thread is about online play. Look elsewhere.

I am looking for a server to rent in order to host a league as I do not want to have to have my laptop as primary server. I am fairly uninformed in the area of servers, so if anyone can offer an opinion or a good stable place to get a server I would be ecstatic.
