Crazy Idea for EHM 2011

Alright so I was on the SI forums page today and someone said we should BUY riz.

Now I am not sure how much SI Games pays him, but I know I would pay $50 (even more) and I am sure that a lot of other people would pay the same to get riz back on this project. If we could find a way to get 1000 players (I know TBL) to donate some money we could probably get Riz back.

I know it seems like its pretty much a retarded amount of money to raise, but like I said its only $50 a person, or less if you can't do 50, and maybe just maybe we could get Riz back on the project he loves.

Any chance this could ever happen?!?!?!

We've only got like 200 names on the petition to bring back EHM. How're we going to find 1000 people willing to pay for it, if we can't even get that many to sign their names on a petition?

I also doubt Riz would leave his safe job at SI for a one time only paycheck.

Sorry for being a downer, but that's just how I see it. :dunno:

Yup, isn't going to happen that way.

Plus, Riz was working for SI when he made this last version of EHM. I'm guessing SI owns the code. He'd probably have to start from scratch and use a different name unless he has something in his contract that grants him rights to the game (which I doubt).

The only way we'll see Riz work on a new hockey management sim would probably be if SI restarted work on the game.

This is the biggest thing to consider. It's almost a certainty that Riz handed over full rights to his code when he signed with SI, plus anything he developed while there. So without SI in charge again, there's no picking up from where EHM left off.

I would imagine he retains the IP for EHM Freeware code but obviously not the game name. Regardless, Riz working on his own wouldn't be able to achieve the same quality of game as EHM 2007 - that was the result of a small team of coders working on it.
