I want to know how to be able to host an event like the memorial cup. Do you have to sign up for it or something. Or is there a way to make you city the host by editing it somewhere. You can make a lot of money hosting such events,

Those things are ''hard-coded'', so you cannot change those things. Correct me if i am wrong.

You can't. I would like to arrange exhibitions too.

Yeah, cause it's boring, for example, to go Olympics without exhibitions.

For hosting events, the best you can do is arrange a pre-season tournament or cup. I've only ever done this once or twice, so I don't remember how to do this, and I'm on Linux right now, so I can't check... but I know it's related to creating regular pre-season games.
It's a very limited feature, though, and won't create anything like the Memorial Cup, but it's at least something.

I have never come upon a possibility to host an event such as the Memorial Cup, a draft or an all-star game.

You can do it in Schedule -> Arrange -> Tournament

yah that technically works. BUt being able to host the memorial cup or the allstar game or something would be really cool.

This is possible. However, it's chosen randomly(?) by the game; There's nothing the user can do to make it happen.

I have always assumed that it's randomly chosen each season (although I assume at least the first season or two is hardcoded as they would have been already designated in real life). I do wonder whether there is also some criteria, i.e. the arena has to be a minimum size, etc?

Then you're bound to get it sooner or later. Just keep playing and having success

Pretty sure it's random, though, it cycles through the WHL, OHL and QMJHL. So you can only have a chance to get it once every three years.

I wish, I had just won the memorial cup and they chose Erie to host it. They didn't even make it to the Robertson Cup finals. I gues I have to wait two more years to see If I can host it.
