Here's a rather simple clarification regarding line matching:

Which number is your team in the sequence?, for instance does 3v1, 4v2 etc mean that your third line gets matched against your opponent's first? Or does that sequence mean that you'd match your first against your opponent's 3rd (which is obviously a bad idea)?

Your first example is correct - your 3rd against your opponent's 2st.
