Suddenly I found myself updating EHM and started little skin project called Ultimate Team Skins aka UTS -Yeah bad name.
So the main idea in this skin is to give every teams their personal colours in gameplay without switchin between different skins. I show early peek to update by showing some pictures.
In these pics I useds older template, but didn't like the colour brightness.
Here I used my newest template and messed up with skins folder. Still not sure about that logo thingy in left side panel.
Upper line buttons are still non updated.
Skin template is somewhat ready, still need to do some tweaks as I'm not sure about every textures etc.
Main skinning (Skins folder) is started and most of is done.. still few buttons is in need to update.
Team arena background pictures are ready, but I'm between two ideas so not sure - toss or keep those arena pics.
NHL jersey logos are done for eastern conference.
There's still lot to do so

Wow, that looks absolutely fantastic! Great work!
Skinning is something that almost everybody has avoided because the number of tiny images that make up the skin is very daunting. I was thinking of perhaps writing a skinning guide once I've completed the new site design because I think it's quite important that some new skins come out for EHM. The game is starting to look dated with the same default blue skin for all of these years. I think we need some new skins to help make it feel like a more modern game. Your skin will really give the game a fresher feel. I cannot wait to test out your UTS
So do you have to design a separate skin for each team or does the skin change colour depending on which team you're viewing ingame?
Here's a couple of suggestions (though I don't know if they are of any use or if others would disagree with me):
1) Maybe the team logo in the left menu (i.e. below "History" and above "View team report") would look better without the drop shadow? Maybe it's just because the screenshots are shrunk down, but I find the drop shadow a little distracting.
2) Again, maybe this is just due to the screenshot being smaller, but it looks like the lower thin blue line of the Flyers colours and the the thin white line of the Islanders colours do not meet in the middle in the first screenshot. If you look at the lower edge of the scoreboard you will see that the blue line meets too far over to the right hand side whereas it should really meet in the middle. Is it possible to change that? It just unbalances things slightly.

Well few quick clicks with template. Haven't found way how game could change colour automatically, but I have still some unchecked tricks in my pocket.

1. Yeah. I was thinking same. With some logos that drop shadow looks good, but not with all.
2. Thanks for that. I didn't even noticed before. Hmm.. that might be jumbotron's fault. I will check it more closely.

Made some tweaks to skin. Now button icons are little clearer and some buttons have now team personal colours. Next I will add to buttons more shape and change those more realistic. Skin template need bit of cleaning as you can see from left side panel. I might add more shape to titlepanel and footer too.
Anyone familiar with changing EHM fonts?
In font folder is coded .HMF files. Is there way to change font type?

Try changing it to a TTF file type and see if it runs.

Time to release first version of UTS.
Here's download links:
UTS skin:
http://cid-859d98524e6888e7.skydrive.li ... HM/UTS.rar
From that link you can find jersey logos too.
Here is some pictures:

http://i50.tinypic.com/2l9l83p.jpg
http://i48.tinypic.com/28ho6q9.jpg
I still do some tweaks, so I will upload update packs for skin later on. And if you find something which is looking bad, just tell.
Oh.. if you have any background pictures in pictures/background/ I recommend to rename background folder before installing skin. That's because UTS skin is using background pictures in skin element, so ordinary background picture looks kinda rubbish with UTS.

I'm trying this one out! I like the sample pictures you provided, so I'm going to give it a shot. I'll give you some constructive comment once I've played with it a bit.

Okay, I know I just started using it but I've got a couple visibility issues right away.
- * On the opening menu screen (where you can load a game or start a new one), the whole thing is kind of dark for me. I can see the buttons but it feels like I'm missing everything else.
* When looking at the menu that runs across the top, the headings for "Continue", "General Manager", "NHL", "World", and "Options" is very hard to read. The menu bar is silver and the text is white. Maybe switch the bar to a darker color or leave the bar silver and make the text dark?
* On the "Roster" screen, where it says "Selection Info - Regular Season", there is another case of colors making it hard to read. In my Oilers game the background is one shade of orange and the text is another. I would make the text blue or leave the text orange and make the background blue.
* On the "Standings" screen, I'm not sure that I like the bright red or orange-red box around each team's points. It looks a bit out of place with everything else.
* I see the color silver used as a common element for buttons across many different screens. In many cases it just doesn't look right mixed with certain other colors. For example, I'm on the Oilers roster screen and the "Scope", "View", "Roster", and "Filter" buttons are silver and just don't look right against the orange background of the bar they're placed on.
Please take these points as constructive criticism. I'm really impressed with what you've done here and would love to see you further refine this skin. It's a very difficult process and we've had only a few people ever attempt it.
Keep up the good work!

I really like this skin!! Good work.
When playing the Kings and looking at the Schedule-page. The matchday is marked with a lightgreen color. You have to really look to see wich day it is. You could maybe make the green color a little bit darker.
Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for critism. I'll check those and see what I can do for.
I rushed on first release, so all things doesn't fit on skin. There seems to be something with text colours.. game doesn't load changed colours always, so I have to swap between skins to make those work. That's why I might toss changed text colours.

From the sample pictures this skin looks very good.
I will test it out.

I love this skin! It has huge potential to add player backgrounds and lots of other things too.
I don't particularily like the players attribute colours. The lime green (high stats) and lemon yellow (average stats) look kind of the same!

The skin looks pretty good. I like the simplicity of the whole thing.
although as Getzlaf said the attribute colours could do with a bit of a change to make them stand out more. But still good non the less.
Keep up the good work.
On a different note... I like the card style you're using

Lazion - Is there a template as to how you made the team backgrounds... I'd like to make some for other teams outside of the NHL...
I've made a few player backgrounds that i think work well.

Yes I have template. I'll make it easier to use, if I can and use my rubber to clean some textures.
And I will upload template sometime in this week.
