Games before DB years

I see a new 08/09 DB is available. I have a question that I could not find the answer too. If I install the 2008DB and start a game in 2006, are all players and contracts set to 2008 values, or will I continue with the default DB until I reach 2008 and then the new values kick in? Is it possible to use more then one DB in a league; say Lidas 07/08 followed by 08/09 or is it strictly one DB?

Sorry if this was answered before, I couldn't find it.

Only one database can be used, and no switching mid-game.

Just to add to what Brian said...

If you are going to use the Lidas rosters, you would install the new database and start a new game. You can have tons of databases installed and they could do nothing for you. The only time a database is used is when you start a new game. Installing databases WILL NOT affect a saved game.

Even though Lidas's roster might be for the 08-09 season, the game will start in 2006. Basically, the rosters and players are updated to match to the 09-10 season but the date will still be 2006. You have to kind of pretend that 2006 is really 2009. In the 2007 NHL draft, you'll see Taylor Hall as the player ranked #1 overall. Does that make sense?
