Any plans in the work for a TBL online league? Its a feature i've always wanted to try, but I could never find enough people to start one.

Upon reading this back to myself it seems really negative, but hey I'd dig being proven wrong =D> not just trashing on the idea.

One reason why we've gotten better results as far as participations goes with the Challenges is due to everyone being, quite literally, all around the world. Add all kinds of time zones atop of everyone's schedules and it gets tough to get together and harder to sustain. It also tends to be one of those things everyone says they want to do but follow up with an "oh that was yesterday?" kind of thing.

Since one person missing an online league brings everything to a halt we were brainstorming a bit about alternatives/new approaches a while back :-k but I'm not sure if we'd worked anything tangible out...

It's a great idea and one I'd be keen to join, but to echo Minstrel a bit, we have active posters here who would be interested from the US, UK and Russia. Just those three places alone make it hard to figure out what time to do an online league. If you look back to things like the Fantasy hockey draft, the same issue was what stopped an online draft for that, and that would only have been a one-off and not a regular commitment.

If anyone does try to set up a TBL online league, I'll be in

There's no reason why the users of this Forum couldn't go about setting up an online league. The TBL Admins don't need to be involved. We're more than happy to help out if there is something which we can do which you can't do so easily (I can't think of anything in particular off the top of my head. It could be as simple as making a sign-up thread a sticky for a few days, etc).

Personally, I have no time to commit to an online league as I'm very busy studying for my final year of my law degree. Also, the University have tight restrictions on the use of outgoing bandwidth.

If a small group or several small groups want to organise an online league then go for it! What I suggest interested people do is post in this thread things such as where they live, what time zone they live in (i.e. how far ahead or behind of GMT they are) and the sorts of days and times they would be free to play an online game.

Another thing to perhaps keep in mind is the number of players. From past experience, I'd suggest keeping the group fairly small. If it is too big then it gets difficult to find a time when everyone can play.

We had a onlineleague on the last EHM. Nobody had spare time to play on.

Well, it was just an idea I wanted to throw out there. :dunno:

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm sure if you could get a couple of other North Americans you could pull it off

It's a good idea. I should have join that league, but I'm living in Sweden so and it's at least eight timezones between you and me.

Maybe people interested in playing can put your details in here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... .php?t=536
