EHM Online and Linux

Does anyone have any experience with EHM online via Ubuntu 9.10? I can confirm that EHM 2005 does work, but I can't say if that includes online play.

Just curious, 'cause I've been thinking about possibly making a return to EHM online now that I've got the time... but I'm also now on Linux, which may be a new dog in the system (but hopefully not ;) ) I'd also be on Windows Live/MSN via Empathy, but that appears to be working fine with all my old DMNHL contacts still there.

It "should" there's no reason it wouldn't that I can come up with. I know it works cross platform with Mac, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, it definitely works. You'll find that it loads faster and is more stable under Linux via WINE than in Windows itself. I was a member of two online leagues using Ubuntu 8.04 and recently using 9.10, and I've never had a problem. The only problem I ever had was that Pidgin was unstable and I don't think Empathy allows you to add people to league chats. Otherwise, the online game is as good or better in Ubuntu than in Windows.

ehm2005 was working without any problems untill yesterday when i upgraded to kubuntu 10.10, since then i cant start it because there are some problems with executable files even if i made them executable. I'll have a look later today and post solution if i found any.
