So, regular season is already over, let's get the playoffs started! What's your prediction for the first round? ( Not necessary to name all the series )

I think Capitals/Habs will be a good series, even if MTL is clearly weak compare to WAS, they played well this season against them. No, I don't think the Habs are going to win but I hope we gonna have a great show. I want to see Ovy, Backstrom and Semin destroy MTL. :-D Washington maybe in 5 or 6.

You Getz do you have a favorite team since your Ducks are out?

I like an underdog. I'm rooting for Colorado... :-D

It's my choice in the west. Even if I know they're not as experimented as before and I doubt they go far, I hope they will beat the Sharks though.

Flyers out in the first round, as usual.

This mediocrity is an endless cycle.

Flyers got the number of the Devils this season. But in playoffs it's always different....

The Flyers got the core to go far, one day. The don't got enough experience so far, plus the goalie kinda suck...

I think each series will go a minimum of 5 games, with the Red Wings and the Flyers the only lower seeds with a real solid chance of an upset.

Sorry Getz, I don't think Washington will sweep Montreal. Les Habs will win a game in Montreal, but they don't have the horses to stop Washington four times.

Here are my picks:

Washington in 5 over Montreal
New Jersey in 7 over Philadelphia
Buffalo in 6 over Boston
Pittsburgh skates by Ottawa in 5

San Jose eliminates the Avalanche in 6 :(
Chicago beats Nashville in 5
I'm agreeing with Eric, Vancouver in 5 over the youthful Kings
Semi-Upset special......Detroit in 6 over the Coyotes.

Sorry but I doubt any teams in the playoffs can beat Buffalo in 4 with Miller in the net.

I wish! Let's start with the first round before picking them as Stanley Cup champs though.

I'm going to pick the Bruins over the Sabres in 6 games. Rask has been incredible versus the Sabres this season. His record versus the Sabres is 4-1-0, 1.42 GAA, .954% SV but I believe that's lifetime, not just this season. Anyhow, he's going to be huge. Of course, the Sabres have Miller, so it's going to be a goaltending battle. Look for Paille to be a contributor for the Bruins. He's still got something to prove to the Sabres, who gave up on him.

As much as I'd love to see it, I don't really think the Bruins have the depth to go past the first round this season. They're missing a bunch of guys due to injuries and I just don't think they have the scoring to carry them far. They've got the goaltending and the team defense to keep their opponents from scoring too much, but I just don't think they can put enough in.

Marc savard will be miss in that serie. But like you said we can have a great goalie show! Just hope the inexperience of Rask in playoffs doesn't show too much.

I don't expect to see Marc Savard in action until next season, even if the Bruins made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. He had a pretty severe concussion. It's only been a week or so since he's been stuck sitting in a dark room all the time.

True... Rask doesn't have the playoff experience. I do think he's got the right kind of mental toughness to handle it though.

He's played in playoff games before, just not at this level. But he should be used to that kind of pressure at a young age anyway.

He hasn't played much playoffs ever in his pro-career. He has played only few playoffgames in Sm-league.

Edit: i check his stats and he has played 26 AHL-playoffgames  . And 10 Sm-league playoffgames. It's 36 games, 17 wins, 19 lost. :dunno:

In playoffs I don't really take my opinions from the victory/defeats ratio. He can have some oustanding games but lose 2-1. If the team infront of you doesn't play well you still got the defeat to your stats and that sucks.

And the trash talk starts:

PLEKANEC CLAIMS CANADIENS HAVE EDGE IN NET AGAINST CAPS

It's never a good idea to question the goaltending of a team with that kind of firepower.
