Is there a plan for a revised DB for the 2010-2011 season? If so, what are the plans for leagues that have fewer or more teams than in the game?
Thanks.

For Lidas 3.0, three AHL teams will be put in the ECHL. With the CHL and IHL merging they have one team too many. One team will probably go to the ECHL, we haven't decided yet

When can we expect the new Lidas rosters? Does it go as far as the season starts in NHL, or soon as in before september?

Don't expect it anytime soon

In the past it has typically been after the season starts.

Since this was brought up... is the IHL/CHL merger being treated as an actual merger in the new DB then (Fort Wayne, Dayton, etc actually in the CHL)? And if so, what will become of the UHL's structure then since it is a playable league in the game (and since Port Huron and Flint have gone to the NAHL, and Muskegon to the USHL)? I'm just curious how that all hashes out... I don't know if there's a way to make another small league playable in its place or not.
As badly as I wish the "AA"level would sort itself out, it would absolutely wreak havoc on the DB's at this point with the AHL continuing to try and get to the magic 30 mark. Pretty soon, someone's going to have to figure out a way to break the hard-coding structures...

I think a split SPHL/LNAH would be a cool leage to see... is that possible?
Maybe fill out the ECHL with the remaining SPHL teams after the leftover AHL ones?
Real life
AHL 30 teams
ECHL 19 teams
CHL 17 teams
SPHL 8 teams
LNAH 7 teams
AHL 27 teams (top 27)
ECHL 24 teams (all 19 from the league, 3 leftover AHL, 1 SPHL or LNAH)
CHL 17 teams (all 17)
UHL 10 teams (7 or 8 SPHL teams, 3 or 2 LNAH or maybe 5 and 5)

The CHL has 18 teams so that means one too many. I figured we'd put that team in the ECHL together with the three AHL-leftovers and the Chicago-team that is joining next year.
For the UHL I think the SPHL is the best choice. They are ranked slightly higher than the LNAH. They are two teams short, though. I know Lidas likes to have the latest teams from the leagues so that would mean to add Richmond And Twin-City

That makes sense, though I have a hard time understanding how the SPHL is better than the LNAH seeing as there are ex-NHL'ers who play in the LNAH and there has never been one in the SPHL.

As long as the Oilers don't get boned in this DB like the last one. There is nothing worse than having to release half your team because there is nowhere to put them.

I've solved this by re-rating the SPHL to just below the AHL and moving the three demoted teams from the ECHL to the SPHL, true you can't play them, but teams dont have a debilitating mass-exodus after every training camp. I just swapped three SPHL teams with ECHL teams.

That is not a good way if you want to play with the minor leagues. Players will then more likely sign in your improved SPHL instead of with the team you're using for examle in the CHL.
Try making both ECHL-affiliates as primary affiliates. I tried this and AI-teams did not do as much of the sign-and-release as they do with only one primary affiliate

Good point. I'll run this by Lidas the next time we talk. The LNAH has seven teams this year so we'll have to add the three latest teams to that.

Would it be possible to create a 3 team mini-league on parallel with the AHL to put these teams in? Yeah, the competition would only be between three teams, but it wouldn't compromise anything.
Also, and much more importantly what is the plan for Allsvenskan, all 14 teams plus Nybro & Olofstrom as they finished next best in the Kvalserien or does Bjorkloven get grandfathered in because they got demoted due to financial issues and not their play?

You can go 'round and 'round on this, and ultimately get nowhere because neither of the leagues are leagues msot of the peopel arguing about will have actually ever seen.
Ultimately, I think the biggest concern EHM-wise would be that the UHL hard-coded rules closer reflect the SPHL's than the LNAH's (which have no roster limits on much of anything, and are closer to the league rules in general I think). That's the consideration I'd go with I guess...

Something else I noticed:
Rochester will probably need to be moved to the actual AHL this time. Florida Panthers are now affiliated with Cincinnati (and Montreal now with Wheeling), so you probably don't want anything that results in a primary and secondary affiliate both existing in the same league, possibly the same division even. Last I checked, Rochester was one of the teams stuck in the ECHL.

Last year the first version came out in November sometime, right? Probably wouldn't look for it until then at the earliest I'd expect. It's a crapload of work.
I remember last year he had a thread for people to help out with re-rating and other such stuff. Is there anything we can do for this version?

I don't know. Lidas is not on here much. Try sending him a PM

No disrespect to Lidas, but if he isn't going to work on something, is there someone else who has, or is willing?

Lidas works on it, don't worry.

Keep up the good work gents, can't wait to play with new DB. Will there be some sort of a donation thing set up like last time?

Are we still looking at 2-3 weeks for the release, or is it going to take longer than that?
