As you can see, my resolution is set to 1280 by 800

Yet, I get this message when I try to play in windowed mode.

This is really frustrating, and this has happened with 2005, and both patches from 2007.

Thanks

Is this with 'Play Full Screen' unchecked in your Preferences in the game or through some other method?

Yes, this happens when I uncheck "Play full screen" in the game preferences.

I have exactly the same problem as Joe, and already had it with EHM05. :dunno: I'm not 100% sure, but i think it has been mentionned on SI boards... :-k

Shadd: You need to have a resolution greater than 1024x768 because it has to put a window around the screen (i.e. it gives the screen a blue outline and also a titlebar with minimise, close buttons, etc at the top). You need more than 800 pixels height in order to display the window.

The biggest i can have is 1280*800, so i'm out on this one :( Doesn't matter for me, but would be annoying for others

Thats because yours is bigger than 800 pixels.

It seems that 800 is the max for us.

I think this is what you're looking for. Works for EHM 2005 and 2007, as well as Football Manager as well :

I keep getting the following error message when I hit apply.

"The name '-small_screen' specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the the path and file name are correct"

Anyone know whats up with that?

Thanks for the find devils fan#1

What does the whole of your target box read? It sounds like you didn't add the text correctly, e.g. you overwrote what was originally written in the box.

It should look something like this:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\Games\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\ehm2007.exe" -small_screen -windowed
Of course change the above so that it reflects where your copy of EHM is installed.

I didn't overwrite anything, but mine didn't look exactly like what you have above so I'll have to try it, thanks

EHM 2007 screen resolution and windowed mode questions

Hey guys,

Is there a way to play inside a window, while having other windows open? Rather than full screen?

Yes, as long as your resolution is larger than 1024x768 (plus a little more for the taskbar, window borders, etc.).

If your resolution is big enough, go to Preferences, and un-tick the Full Screen option.

Playing in Windowed mode troubles

Hello folks,

I'm having a problem with my new laptop in being able to "uncheck" the small box and activating "windowed" mode. I've scoured the forums here using everything from the -small_window extension in my shortcut, to adjusting my resolution to a different ratio only to run into runtime errors and errors saying I must run it above 1024x768.

The resolutions I have available are: 1366x768, 1360x768, 1280x768,1280x720, 1024x768, 1024x600 and 800x600.
My drivers and graphic card software is totally up to date. The laptop I'm running is a Acer Aspire 5250-BZ600 w/ 15.6" HD LED LCD, AMD Radeon HD 6310.

Now I can run the game in Full Screen mode, but the truth of the matter is the graphics are stretched and kinda pulled over loosing the crispness of the "windowed" screen smaller look. I can Alt - TAB into another open window like the Internet Explorer for example letting the computer keep its 1366x768 configuration and when I hold the alt - TAB agian to enter the game it's in the "windowed" mode looking beautiful and taunting me to get this windowed problem to work!! After I let go of the buttons it enters *gulp* fullscreen mode and creates a uneasy feeling knowing I'm missing something or doing something wrong, so I'm turning to you's!!

Btw, I'm running the latest patch 3.4, manimals 4.0 update, CSD patch.

As far as I can tell, your resolution is too small.

Yeah, your resolution is too small. I got the same screen resolution and there's no way to play the game in windowed mode with those resolutions.
