Wanted to rebuild with a WHL for example Calgary Hitmen but with players with Karl Alzner and Alex Plante best way to rebuild realistically would it be to trade them and possible what others think could be the possible package for each player?

In my opinion, your best way to rebuild in the major junior leagues is through the draft. We did two challenges with CHL teams. One was the Sarnia Sting in the OHL and the other was the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the Q. By season three (in each game) I had a dominant team and won both the league and the Memorial Cup. The trick is to build through your draft. We were allowed one trade per season (a one-for-one trade), and that really kept it interesting. Get a good staff, scout like crazy and develop your players.

The CHL is so different from the NHL because you only have the players for five years at most. (assuming they are not a superstar regen, because they will get signed right away by their NHL team)

I wouldn't :(

There are plenty of good draft picks coming with the regens.

If you're just looking for what you should do in your particular game (should you trade Alzner and Plante), you should really be asking this in the "Help! I need advice for my roster" thread.

I don't see a problem with starting a new thread to discuss general rebuilding strategies though. IMO, if you're playing one of the Canadian Junior hockey teams, you're going to always be in a state of rebuilding because, as Timmy pointed out, you don't get to keep your players that long.

I guess its a bit of both type thing... having a thread to discuss ways to rebuild but also help in the same
