Finished my first season in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Started the season by claiming Tomas Holmstrom, Jason Woolley, Brad Ference and Brad May in the Waivers Draft. Then half way through traded Sebastien Caron for Byron Dafoe as Caron was becoming a liability (his last three performances for me were rated 5,5 and 4). Despite a couple of rough patches I finished top the Eastern Conference yet only had only player (Morozov) in the top 75 points scorers in the league, and he only had 56 points. Lemieux was only my 7th top scorer with 41! First time in his career he had finished with more games than points. Anyway, I got knocked out by the Rangers in the semi finals of the playoffs, and they went on to get beat by Phoenix in the finals. I then traded to get the first overall pick off Columbus to draft Ovechkin

and also drafted Jono Phillips and Matt Myers from Cardiff in the late rounds. Also managed to pick up Bill Guerin and Chris Chelios from free agency, and trying to tempt Mark Recchi back to Pittsburgh however Im starting to run a litte low on cash
How is everyone else getting on? Anyone managed to win the Stanley Cup yet?

Yep, it's been that long!
So far, the Pens have won 3 Stanley Cups in 09-10, 14-15 and 15-16 and placed 2nd in 06-07.
Career Points - Ryan Malone 762
Career Goals - Ryan Malone and Fredrik Naslund 366
Career Assists - Ryan Malone 396
Career Games - Ryan Malone 1029
Career Wins - Marc Andre Fleury 351
Season Goals - Mario Bliznak 47 (2014-15), Fredrik Naslund 47 (2012-13)
Season Assists - Maxime Talbot (2009-10)
Season Points - Mario Bliznak 101 (2014-15)
Season Wins - Fleury 51 (2014-15)
Calder Trophy - Timo Niemenen 2011-12 , Jacek Gonera 2016-17
Whole bunch more stats too if anyone's interested.....
Pretty much a home grown team, drafted with no silly trades to bring in talent/picks. Malkin is still playing (821GP, 546 Pts), as is Naslund who looks et to break all the Pens (well, my Pens, he's still a ways off Mario and Jagr stats) records. Biggest problem has been goaltending and still is, although I picked up a good Kazakh and a good Latvian (called Steve Gilbert) in the 7 and 8th rounds last year. Big hopes that one of those will pan out....
Playoff time in 2020 now, one game up against the Isles. Watch this space.
Cheers
Ian

In my game Jaromir Jagr signed with Swedish Djurgården for 700,000€ per year, season 08-09.
If I'd only known he was available to Europe...
