Game update question

First if this is in he wrong place i apologize.(move accordingly)
I was wondering if an update is available that only updates the future drafts with real players (ex.2010 has Taylor Hall, Tyler Seguin, and Cam Fowler). I know that the Lidas updates the teams to the current date, but i would enjoy being able to have different draft results in my game. I hope that i have made this understandable and will be waiting for a reply.
Thanks in advanced.

If you want one that starts in 2006 IRL, then no. The various Lidas rosters has the upcoming draft for each year and some for the future but not for all

ok thanks, I just thought that maybe someone would have included real players for the 2010 and 2011 drafts instead of just randomly generated ones.

We have the real players but you have to start in that season they are drafted to get them. For example, Taylor Hall can be drafted in all Lidas 2.X DB and Nugent-Hopkins in 3.0 or 3.1.
Well, they are both in other updates but not as extensively scouted

Hey, squitman! (another Getzlaf loving member?)
I think what you are looking for is here:
Updated Unfaking DB 5.0 from TheBreakaway.net
This will maintain the rosters as they were in 2006/07 but will include all the players eligible in the upcoming drafts like Hall, Tavares, Fowler, etc.
Note: I haven't tried it myself yet, but this seems to be a great chance to improve some of the (questionable?) draft choices the (too questionable) GMs of our favourite teams made!
Pretty cool project, although not nearly as fantastic as the Lidas updates, though a totally different approach.
I hope it's ok to post this link here, otherwise please delete my post and I apologize.

I am surprised that you didn't know that a DB like that exists, timmy_t ...
However, I couldn't resist to test it - obviously with the Sabres from 06/07 - and I must admit that I love it. Campbell is making 1.25/y - Miller 2M and Vanek not even 1M - the only one I am missing is Rob Ray

. It's awesome, knowing what the future is like, you can build around key players from then and let your franchise look like it should have...
Obviously the drafts are not as thrilling as they are with totally random players, but I took a quick look into the DB and all the upcoming draftees have random potential (e.g.: Patrick Kane has only a PA of -9, so he could be an almost complete bust as well) - altough it's not realistic as we know the future irl, but it gives this DB the necessary touch to be fun to play.
I still appreciate the Lidas/Manimal updates much more as it is the actuality we are all looking for when playing a simulation like that (just thinking about the Flyers without Richards/Carter but the addition of great prospects). And having in mind that the AI in EHM tempts to make trades around the league like a 10y old kid playing NHL 08-11 there is not much realism left in the unfaking DB after a few years (I am not so far, just 20 games into season 1

- not such an addict), But I am pretty sure that it will look like that ...
A real advantage compared to the Lidas/Maniaml DBs is that the RFA/UFA rules seem to apply correctly so that there are neither Burmistrov nor Fowler unrestricted free agents after their ELCs end and additionally Kopitar won't win the Calder trophy with 100+ points while being a member of the NHL for more than a couple of years attributeswise..
In conclusion, in my opinion this a great possibility if you are unhappy ore even upset with the moves your GM did the last couple of years and you want to correct them in EHM, but I think it's much more interesting to get a franchise from the bottom of the league into contender-status in just a few years like we do in the challenges! However, it would be nice if people could try this and possibly we can even make a topic discussing the value and the content of that DB?!
P.S.: I know it hasn't been brought to life by ehmtheblueline.com - are their any conflicts we should know of with thebreakaway.net? Nobody deleted the link so I hope that's still okay as I have never seen a thread mentioning that DB?

Probably not, Alessandro posts here as well as there. They won't appreciate some of their uh, editing methods, but it's just another fan-site. UUDB rosters are very good if you want an '06-'07 game but they don't change the ratings of any of the players there, so it comes as it's shipped. This means that Lidas' massive changes to player potential are still not there, and you'll get the big long term PA inflation and super '10-'11/'11'-12 drafts some people on here get sick of seeing. I imagine some people on here could use a change though- Lidas is amazing but it seems like many people on here have done multiple playthroughs, and it is quite something to go back and look at those old rosters and enjoy EHM from the perspective of their original researchers.

No, there's no conflict. If anybody wants to play the original 06/07 rosters then I'd most definitely recommend UUDB's project. If you want up to date rosters then there's Lidas/Manimal. So hopefully between the two of those updates there's something suitable for everyone.
