EHM 2007 on Apple Mac / CrossOver Mac OS X Questions

Moderators' note: This is now the thread for any discussions/questions regarding installing or running EHM 2007 on an Apple Mac. This is also the thread for any discussions/questions regarding running the PC version of EHM 2007 on CrossOver Mac OS X. Questions regarding CrossOver Linux should not be posted in this thread.

I used to be active on this forum almost a year ago, but I don't think any of you will remember me :-p. I stopped playing EHM for a while, but I'm thinking about playing a little now. I downloaded the 3.0.4 Mac version and did what SI Games told me. I double-clicked the data refresh AppleScript, and tried to launch the application. I got this...

The game looks like it will come up for a second, but then it quits out.

Anyone know what to do (and sorry if this question is a nooby one :-k)?

Hey Oobla! Actually, I do remember you. Nice to see you back!

Sorry I really can't help you on this one. I've got zero experience with a Mac. Your best bet will probably be to look on the SI boards to see if anyone has come up with the problem before. I'm going to go ahead and rename the thread here to something a little more descriptive though and maybe somebody might have some ideas for you.

Thanks for the advice and rename bruins . I'm going to check the SI site right now...

EDIT:

Doesn't look like they have anything to deal with the Mac on their support site.

I had the same problem when I upgraded on my Mac (OS 10.5 - Leopard).

I don't make any guarantees - but this worked for me....

- delete the folder from Applications
- re-download the 3.0 trial and running it.
Quitting out.
Running the 3.0.4 update.
Running the applescript that you're supposed to do with the update.

Alright, I'll try that, Nuk! I'm on 10.5. I'll edit this post after I'm done. By the way, the only trial I can find is 3.0.1...

EDIT:

I'm downloading the trial now. Is it just me, or is the SI site extremely slow? It takes me about a minute to load up. The trial is downloading at only 10KB/s and dropping.

It means that a) the game files aren't in the proper place (ie, you moved the application/data) or b) you don't have permissions set correctly.

YES, it lanched :joy:! Thanks Nuk! I still have a question, though.

When I'm in the game and hit Check for Updates, it says version 3.0.4 is available. I am sure that I installed it, though. Is that a problem? Does that happen to everyone?

Says that for me, too. Just check the info on your saved file from within the load screen. If it says 3.0.4, you're good.

Ok, just making sure I didn't do something wrong . Thanks Richie!

Glad it worked - and it should be 3.0.4 - which your last post says it is.

I think the problem we had has something to do with going from full-screen to windowed when you update - but I'm not sure.

From PC to Mac

Hi. I downloaded the game to my PC but now I have changed to a Mac. I downloaded the game and tried my product key but it doesnt work. I have played football- and championship manager on both platforms only having to buy the game once and the EHM-05 I could play on my home PC and work Mac (I am pretty sure my boss doesnt visit the blue line...) without any problems. I have mailed Sigames but no answer (1 1/2 week ago from now), I also said I would not mind paying for a disc that works on both platforms and pay for the stamps. I also mailed Elicense and they mailed back the next day but said they could not help me. So is there anything I can do? I want to avoid having to go pirate seeing as I like the game and already bought it.

Thanks Johnny

I've always assumed the licence would work on either type of computer. When you buy the game you have three licences so I don't see why you couldn't have one for a PC and another for a Mac.

E-licence ought to know the answer to this. I'll see if I can find out at SI for you later this weekend...

Btw, no discussion/endorsement of piracy on these forums please.

PC and Mac licenses are not interchangeable.

Well then it looks like I have to get fusion or just install windows with bootcamp.

Or buy the game again but I dont like that idea.

Let me know how you do it if you do somehow get your game to the Mac. I bought the game on a PC a couple years ago, and since have moved to Mac, so it'd be nice to be able to transfer it over.

Yes, you'd need to install Windows and run it that way. The serial numbers aren't interchangeable and neither are the save games.

Well I bought Football Manager 09 (on disc this time) so that game will keep me busy for some time. I dont like the idea of having to "return" to Windows and it seem such a waste to put it on a mac but who knows, the NHL bug might bite me soon again? If the dollar had not taken a huge jump up in value compared to my SEK I might have downloaded it again.
Still no reply from Sigames according to them sending me a disc and I only have to pay for the disc and the stamps. I guess they stopped giving support to Eastside gamers long time ago.

Why Can't you get the Mac original game???

Hello to all,

Only the one problem i have is.. i replace all my computers from PC to Mac and i have some questions.

First of all, i my code still legal? i bought the game on PC platform but that isn't working anymore.. ( .EXE and .APP )

Also, can i change my game? can i edit some players and and and when i play this game on a Mac?

Thanks,

Edited thread title to more descriptive, incase of this issue being searched by another user at some point

The game is sold by 2 seperate companies for the Mac & PC so you would need to purchase a Mac license sorry.

Yeah, I figure with how much I play this game, I already got my money's worth out of it a couple years ago. If something happened and I needed a new license, I wouldn't think twice about re-purchasing it.

Just to add... The save game files from Mac to PC are incompatible. So, you can't bring saved game files from your old PC game to your Mac, nor can you edit the Mac saved game files with the saved game editor.

Databases, however, are cross-platform.

Hi Richie,

My english isn't 100% but if i would buy the game again and i start a new game, save it.. can i transfer the Save-file (Mac) to a PC and edit it? then place it back on my Mac..

Will that work for me?
Because if not, the game isn't fun to play on a Mac.

Thanks,
