Hey all,

As it seems that everyone is chomping at the bit to get the Free Agency period update, I've taken the Lidas/Manimal 3.2 roster update, and added in all the trades and free agent signings since July 1. It is current, as of July 12, 21:45EST.

Any mistakes, omissions, or other errors are mine only.

Anyone that wants a copy, let me know, and I can e-mail it them.

It's usually considered proper etiquette to ask the person who made the roster update for permission before you release new updates based on their work. Manimal released 3.2 to give everyone the chance to sign players as if it were July 1st. He'll release another update that will be up to date when the season starts. It doesn't make much sense to release an update in between because teams are still making changes.

He's not claiming he made all the changes before the point of free agency so I really don't see anything wrong with him releasing his own version of the Manimal rosters that are updated until yesterady.

It's his edited version of the roster that is released to everyone, so I don't see why he cannot edit the roster himself and release it in the Editing forum. He gave credit to Manimal as releasing the 3.2 rosters, but some of the guys around here want a true roster update with real rosters. He did everyone a favor by making the transactions himself. It's not an official release by any means, but it is his own edited rosters that he released. Why is anything wrong with that? I just released an update until July 5th and didn't use Lidas/Manimal name in the roster, but gave them credit and released it. You are being a little too strict about these rosters, don't you want everyone to have the best experience they want, what if they want the real rosters? Instead of taking it from July 1st and making unrealistic signings. Nothing against Manimal at all, we have talked and he released it for that purpose, but some people want up-to-date rosters with real transactions since July 1st. What is really wrong with that? He just needs to release it in his own name, which I thought he did.

It's just considered good manners to get the permission of the person if you're going to release something based on their work.

Understandable, but the Lidas/Manimal rosters are publicly shared.. as long as he is not advertising it as his own and gives credit where the credit is due, it seems like it would be okay to do. Just my thoughts.

This was the line posted right below the link to download and before the readme info. So bestrafer7, do you still believe that it is okay to do as such given the author specifically asks for permission to be sought first?

I can not forbid users to re-work my rosters updates as it is in the open, but we will not have such a small-changed version in the downloads here. Or attached to a post. Feel free to send it by Personal Messages

That is already done in the 3.2 version
