Fake players?

Are the players that don't have histories in the game fake?(eg random regens) Eg say a random player from an Italian club. Or have their histories just not been programmed?
Is there a list anywhere of the 'fake' players (who carry their real stats, so that I could eit their names to be correct? I want authenticityMinstrel wrote:Usually in EHM terms "fake" or actually "faked" means that they are real life players from unliscensed league that carry their proper stats but are under a fake name.
Odds are though that a player from an Italian club is probably computer generated, yeah.
I used the Smetana update-is the unfaking one better?Minstrel wrote:As they are all database matters the best solution is to run the unfaked database as that gives you real team names, league names, and player names back. It tends to be a less problematic database project due to it being, in essence, just a project that changes the text the game displays.
It doesn't alter leagues or affilliations or change teams or player stats in whatever league. That it really only changes text displayed by the game is important to me. Especially since after being an alpha tester of the game I experienced over and over, for months, how much change can occur in the game world all resulting from one small alteration.
Alterations can really cause a ripple/domino-effect (whichever cliche you prefer :-P ) across the game "universe" as the whole game is connected in essence, like a giant spider's web. Issues can arise due to changes especially over time. In testing sometimes people wouldn't notice negative trends from a change until they'd run the game out to say 2025. Looking at the impact of a change you might realize a country's prospects had fallen completely off the map. Tracing it back it began from a recent tweak designed to strengthen the quality of prospect development in the Canadian Juniors for example.
Sorry for the digression thereanyhow the unfake v1 is a "mostly harmless" database update and it does resolve the authenticity issues SI couldn't provide due exclusively to liscensing. For example were a college player to allow their name to be used in a video game it would revoke their eligability to play in the real life NCAA.
