Facepacks / player pictures not appearing in game

Hello all,

I have been a huge fan of EHM 2007 for almost 5 years now. I get obsessed with the game sometimes for months at a time, and I just got back into it a couple of days ago. Enough introduction, I'll get right into my problem:

I went through several EHM licenses over the years due to my computer crashing and some lack of organization on my part (not saving my purchase info to be able to retrieve the lost license)....Anyhow, in an attempt to alleviate this problem, approximately 1-2 years ago I redownloaded the game onto an external hard drive.

The game is as addicting as it has always been, but since I've done this the player profile pictures have never worked no matter what I do. I am determined to get the player profile pictures working, as I believe that the game is definitely lacking some quality without them.

What is the correct directory format to get these pictures to work?

I have my current directory set up like this:

Player picture files:

J:\Username\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players

I had previously had my saved games and tactics in a directory on my computer's hard drive, should I put my saved games somewhere on the external hard drive with the rest of the files?

This is so frustrating.

Note: Roster updates, skins, etc. have seemed to work fine with no issue with this directory set up. The only thing not working is the player profile pictures.

Thanks for your help!

Glad you found your answer! Welcome back to the world of EHM! :)

I'm guessing the solution was to change the years of birth in the filenames because you may be using date-adjusted rosters and/or facepacks. If this is the case then you may find this tool helpful: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =88&t=6857

I'll lock this now, as requested.

face packs not showing up in game

I am using Lidas Roster 2011/12 ver 3.2 and installed both [Mug][2011-12][NA][NHL] Megapack Alternative and [Mug][2011-12][NA][NHL] Megapack into my players subfolder in the data/pictures folders. None of the pictures are showing up when I start the game. I am using Win 7 64 bit if that makes difference. Any suggestions?

Check the picture file names. If they are correct -- have the same name and date of birth as on the database, they should show up automatically. (Firstname_lastname_DD_MM_YYYY)

the picture files have the first lastname and date of birth in "First name_last name_DD_MM_YYYY" format. Not sure where I can look up the player info in the database and how to view a .DAT file. The problem is that they are not showing up automatically.

You can simply load an existing game and look at a player's date of birth by looking on their player profile screen. Then compare this with the date of birth in the corresponding player picture.

For example, take a look at Alexander Steen's date of birth in game. It should be 1 March 1984. If you look at his facepack file, it is Alexander_Steen_1_3_1984.png and so they match and the picture should appear no problem.

Have you placed the images directly in your NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players folder? They should be in your players folder and should not be placed in any subfolders.

Do the original photos show? The ones that come with the installation?
For me, when I downloaded some megapacks, I had to remove the original ones first for the downloaded ones to show.

Yeah, certain file formats take precedence over others. IIRC I think it goes EHG -> PNG -> JPG. So if there is a JPG and a PNG for the same player, it will be the PNG that is always shown.

I looked at a player's birthday (H Sedin) in the game and compared it to the picture file and found that the format for the in game birthday is month, day, year but of the picture its day, month, year...also I found that the year of birth is not the same in the game its 1975 but the picture file its 1980. so in game H sedins birthday is 9,26,1975 but the PNG file is 26,9,1980 I am using Lidas Roster 2011/12 ver 3.2 so I am wondering if that is what is causing the problem is there a utility that I can use to make the birthdates compatible?

The Lidas v3.2 Rosters have dates of births adjusted so that the 2011/12 season can be simulated using the 2006/07 hardcoded date. You therefore need to adjust the facepack dates by five years. You can do this using this tool: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =88&t=6857
