EHM The Blue Line

Anybody know how much it costs to expand the arena? I brought the Amherst Ramblers (MJAHL) into the QMJHL. They have an arena capacity of 2,500. In my first season, every game was sold out. The team won the President's Cup and then the Memorial Cup. During the off-season I asked the board to expand the arena but they said there isn't enough funds. The team has over $1M in cash.

I suspect "cost" was not the real issue...

I did a search of "Arena Expansion" and found posts from others stating #1 you have to own the arena and #2 expansion has to be possible (capacity may already be maxed out) - using the PreGame Editor (Arenas tab) you can see the rink's "Capacity" and "Seats" and "Expansion" (if Expansion shows as "0" it seems Expansion is not possible) BUT #3 you can edit "Expansion" using the SavedGame Editor

I looked up the Arenas in Amherst using the PreGame Editor (default database)...
Amherst Arena 1000 Capacity 1000 Seats 0 Expansion
Amherst Ice Hall 2500 Capacity 2500 Seats 0 Expansion
Amherst Place 8389 Capacity 8389 Seats 0 Expansion
....as you can see, all Arenas show Seats already equal Capacity and they all show "0" for Expansion - I suspect you play in the Amherst Ice Hall, and Expansion won't be possible

The PreGame Editors shows other Arenas that I think could have Expansion occur in the right circumstances, such as...
Ambrì Ice Hall 7500 Capacity 2000 Seats 5500 Expansion
Bern Ice Hall 1500 Capacity 500 Seats 1200 Expansion
Biel/Bienne Rink 7500 Capacity 2975 Seats 1000 Expansion

So...it looks like you could try to edit "Expansion" using the SavedGame Editor and then try again with the Board

I forgot to mention that I did put 22,000 for the Amherst Stadiums expansion in the pre-game editor. Plus, I do own the arena. I'm wondering if it's because of the major difference between 2,500 current max and the 22,000 expansion max. If the board would approve, would it go to 22,000 or would it increase in increments over time? At the same time, the max attendence is at 5,500.

If you make editing adjustments and get Expansion to occur, please post what you did! I think Arena Expansion could be used in the 1974 db I'm working on...

How are the "finances" - in the default db on the Clubs tab in the Editor the Amherst Ramblers have 0 (variable) as the Attribute for Club Cash, Market Size, Fan Support...I wonder if any of these play a part? and maybe one or more of these Club Attributes are to low in your game for Expansion to occur? AND/OR maybe the Resources Attribute of the Chairman/President is to low?

Just finished my 3rd season, winning both my 3rd President's Cup and Memorial Cup. Games are always sold out and the board still says that there are no funds.
