Hello

In July of last year I sent a PM to B. Stinson asking about removing the red "trapazoid lines" that show when watching a game in EHM07.
He was kind enough to explain how to do this then, has has given the OK for me to share this - I'm thinking those currently testing (and future players of) the 1974 database who also enjoy actually watching the gameplay ("watching the dots")..........if you follow these instructions you'll be able to remove the extra red lines around the nets, so it'll look more like it did in the 1970s and 1980s! I remember testing this out last summer, and I loved it!

This does NOT remove the rule/penalty, it just removes the extra red paint!
Here's the explanation I recieved last summer, and below that a screenshot of the "no trapazoid look" (and the Flyers retro center ice logo that Stinson made too!)
Enjoy!

B. Stinson wrote:The trapezoid is a bit of a unique case. I think its color is set in each skin's .COL file, rather than being an actual graphic.

So, to remove it, I think you should be able to change its color to white, so it blends in with the ice. To do this, open your skin's .COL file in Notepad. The .COL files are located at:
C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins

Once it's open, scroll all the way down to the bottom, and you'll see five entries for rink colors. The entry for the red line is what I think you need:

Code: Select all

# RINK_REDLINE_COLOR
102 250 0 0
Ignore the 102 - that's just the entry number. The next three digits are what you want: the 250 0 0. Set this to 255 255 255 to make it pure white. I'm pretty sure the ice is pure white, so this should blend perfectly, and thus hide the trapezoids. If you want to go back to red, you can use 222 140 140, which is the same red I used for all the other red lines.

For those who want the trapezoids to reappear in EHM when playing with modern rosters, you could make a duplicate of the skin in your Skins folder and then switch between skins using the in game preferences screen.
