Can't send to Rehab

Well, I got Joe Morrow in the 2019-2020 season with anterior knee pain. When I try to send him to rehab it says "There's nothing we can do to help Joe Morrow with his long term injury. We can only hope for the best". He's only 27 years old and is playing phenomenal. I'm just worried that when he reaches 32+ he'll average 30 games per season or something and won't be worth anything. Anyone with experience on this?
