Game Crash - ingame_events.cpp

So I just started up a previous EHM save - I haven't played in a few months - and the game is crashing. I decided to move to another save, but the same thing happened. Starting a new game I was able to sim a few days and then it crashed again...
My error is: v3.0.4 ingame_events.cpp 2629
Any help?
EDIT: Oh I'm running the Custom Start Date Patch and I'm in the year 2017.

At what points during your saved game had you been using the CSD Patch? You should only apply the patch until 1 Feb / 1 July of the first season and then you stop using it.

The only time I patched it after that date was last night when I was trying to figure out the problem. It seems to be a problem with the game itself and not necessarily the save. I've tried saves that didn't use the patch, and still it crashed.
So I found a thread about the Fatal Errors. The best reply I found was about deleting, unlicensing and uninstalling EHM. I'm down for that, however I don't want to delete it and find out I deleted something I needed to reinstall. I bought that game a few years ago via the phone - just before EHM became completely unavailable - and so I don't have the CD. Would my best course of action be copying the elicense from the folder, pasting it somewhere else, and then deleting the whole SI folder? After I would download the demo again and then just apply the license to it? I've never uninstalled the game before so I have no idea what I'm doing...

Do you have your original order number (serial number)? If you have this then you're okay to uninstall.
Before you uninstall, you must unlicense the game:
The_Blue_Line wrote:Create a shortcut to EHM and changed the target so it says:
Code: Select all
"C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007/ehm2007.exe" -unlicense
Note that the
-unlicense bit should go after the speech mark and not before it.
Then uninstall the game.
When you reinstall and reload the game, you'll be prompted for your serial code.
