ECHL/CHL Thread
Hi guys, thought I would start a thread for people who play mainly using the ECHL/CHL as it's alot different to the NHL game.
So for anyone using these leagues what systems work for you? I've used 3 lines with a 3rd checking line and then 3 equal matched lines and had success with both although only won the playoffs with the 3 equal lines style.
What players are recommended?
No one may use this thread but its good to have an option.

I'll make start by asking if anyone has noticed this following thing that really annoys me.
I'll try to sign a player who wants, for example, £24,000 per year, which I can't afford. BUT he'll the sign to a team in the LNAH or SPHL for £8,000 a season, despite me offering him £18,500 and him turning it down.
Anyone know why? It's not as if the LNAH is a better league than the ECHL.

From the ECHL websiteLazion wrote:I noticet that in ECHL has 7-day injured reserve and 30-day injured reserve.
I know that in 7-day you have to keep player in reserve for 7 days and in 30-days for month.
But is there anything else difference between?
What is the injured reserve system for the ECHL?
ECHL teams can have one player on the 3-day injured reserve and one player on the 7-day injured reserve and an unlimited number of players on the 30-day injured reserve. Players may be moved from the 3-day injured reserve list or the 7-day injured reserve list to the 30-day injured reserve list, but may not be moved back from the 30-day injured reserve list to either the 3-day injured reserve list or 7-day injured reserve list. In addition, when placing a player on the 7-day or 30-day injured reserve list retroactive to his injury, a team may only go back three (3) days or to the first day after his last game played, whichever is less, including and beginning with the current day. Once put on the injured reserve list, a player must remain there the minimum number of clear days so that his total time on the injured reserve list equals the length of the respective injured reserve list slot. Any player who was moved from the 3-day injured reserve list or the 7-day injured reserve list to the 30-day injured reserve list will have the number of days already served count toward his 30-day total. Players on injured reserve may not skate in any pregame warm-up.

I'm managing my NHL's farm teams and I can't find a solution to the problem of replacing injured players who are on the injured reserve list. I've got 3 players on the list but I cannot send any replacements to fill in as it says my roster is full even though the roster screen says I have 17 players on the roster. Is there any workaround short of releasing players who are injured? The injured players are under contract to the ECHL team so I can't just move them up to the AHL team like I can with my other contracted players.

Do you have the option of using the "greyed out" players? Or you could do a holiday day for it?CeeBee wrote:I'm managing my NHL's farm teams and I can't find a solution to the problem of replacing injured players who are on the injured reserve list. I didn't have any greyed out players on the roster. For me the only time I've had greyed out players was when I've had only one goalie and a fill in player would appear in the boxscore. Not sure what you mean by holiday day though? What happened is I played a couple of games with 17 players dressed and got one player back. Then 2 more guys got hurt but luckily they were under contract to the NHL team so I shipped them to the AHL and sent 2 players down to replace them till they recovered.

Are you able to place them on the Injured Reserve list?CeeBee wrote:I didn't have any greyed out players on the roster. By holiday day, if you go to the General Manager tab then on the drop down and select General Manager Options there is an option there to "go on holiday". If you do that your Assistant GM or Head Coach will sort the problem out for your next game & also take charge if any games are on that holiday.

Ah.. vacation... didnt try that . I placed 2 on the 30 day IR and one on the 7 day IR. Still would not let me send in a replacement even though on the roster screen says I have 17 players on the roster. Tried to send a player down from the AHL and it says the roster is full which kinda sucks... Not a big fan of the 20 man limit in the ECHL thats for sure!
