Are updates in the works for player ratings in Sweden? Also, is anyone doing Swedish prospects?

Nobody has volunteered to help with Swedish hockey. I have a list of CA from the SEL and Allsvenskan but that wont be in the first update, other than the players included in the prospect research. I think I have all player transfers, but I don't have the time to check.

Is there going to be updated facepacks released with the new database that should be coming soon now :)
Or is that released later on?

Me and another King_Louis are planning on doing a collection of facepacks for the new season.

I just have to get the new template sorted out first.

The DEL will not be updated in the first release. Most player transfers are done, I think and Frankfurt is gone.
I don't know when it will be released

That's great news!

It would definitely add to the feel of the new database to have a new set of facepacks.

I'm Trying to find the time to draw up a draft of the template and post a few screens up on the site. It probably wont be for a while yet. As I'm pretty busy with my home life and studying. But I'll try and get some screens up in time for Christmas.

What if you created the template and then sought out volunteers to take various leagues (and in the NHL's case, maybe by division?) and create the face cards from that? That way we could have your design but you won't be bogged down with having to create all of these individual cards.

Hmm... That is a good idea. I know King Louis is going to do the NHL and AHL. I was thinking of doing the ECHL and CHL. If I could get the volunteers to do it that would be great. Do you think I should try and drum up volunteers now, or once the template is done. As more people might be willing to join the project. My plan/hope is to get every player in the database done. So there would need to be a group of people researching and making cards. In my estimation... there would probably need to be about 3 or 4 card makers and about 7 or 8 additional researchers. That should be enough I think to get the vast majority of the leagues done. As with just me an Lidas last year we got a fair bit of leagues done.

Although I think I might need to do the template in other versions (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Gimp) to allow for more users to be able to use the template. I'll also have to write a tutorial so users how to use the template. As I'm not a big fan of people altering the templates. As it means all packs done by those users are different, making the packs inconstant.

I'm thinking this post might need to be moved...

It seems like every project can be made easier with help from volunteers and we've got a great community for that sort of thing. If you want to make a thread looking for volunteers, you could split that post into a new thread. I can see pros and cons to posting now to find volunteers. If you get people now, they can start looking for pictures to have them ready for once your template comes out. The drawback is, some people might not be interested in helping until they see the template. I suppose you could always just throw it out there and see what kind of response you get.

I think Manimal just waits for the prospects for the last couple of teams in this thread:
http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... php?t=6016

But yeah, I think there's not too long until a release so just sit back and relax these very nice days before christmas.
