This may be a bit dated, but I know of a major exploit from 2004 or 2005. I don't know if it still exists, but it's something that could be double-checked.
Basically what happened was that I was able to trade an over-aged (this was in the OHL) Jeff Carter for full value. It was just after the season had ended, and it was Carter's last season of junior eligibility. With no games left to play, he was now useless for a junior team. But the game hadn't reached it yearly update yet, so it didn't see him as being "done", and figured he was still valuable.
AI accepts trades of over-aged CHL players with 0 games left
