I've been fiddling with trying to complete (or at least add to) one of the historic mods available and was wondering if there's any guide to the non-playable leagues and what the age restrictions are there? I know if you take a player and put them there when they are too young, the game will correct their age back up in some cases.
Basically, I'm trying to find out how many draft pools ahead I can go when adding in players, because when it comes to some of these American and Canadian junior teams and below, I haven't the foggiest idea how they rank or what the age limits are and I don't want them getting bumped up a couple of drafts early (that sucks when trying to nail down a historical mod).
And yes, I checked the Guides section. I see a guide to league reps for playable teams, but nothing beyond that.
Thanks.

Hmmm, good to know, thanks.
That tells what the upper ages can be, but not the lower. Bantam is 15, Midget 17 or 18, Junior 20 or 21... from that I can assume Bantam is 13-14, Midget is 15-16, etc?
I guess what I'm getting at, it's great to know that Alberta Major Bantam has an upper age limit of 15... but what's the lower? I know theoretically IRL there maybe isn't one if a kid is good enough, but... the game doesn't work that way. I don't think the game would let me put an 8 year-old in Bantam, would it? Not without upping his age at the start of the game, at least... and that's what I'm after, if anyone knows the lower limits the game uses.
(As I understand the structure anyways)
Can you put 12 year-olds in the game without it upping them? Or 11 year-olds? What's the floor for age in the game? Could I add in a PeeWee league using one of the other dormant ones and put in 11-12 year olds? Or is the hard-coded floor at 13 for Bantam? Has anyone played around with this really?
It's not a lot of consequence for up-to-date rosters I know, but when you're starting to talk about historical mods or the UUDB, you want to cram as many draft-eligibles in as you could possibly get in I suppose.
I have never done any work with such young players before. I just tried to create an 11 year-old but he was 22 when I started the game. Try sending a PM to someone who has done histrical databases before, like pens66. Or even try asking Riz himself. He is usually helpful

So... finally got to play around with this.
I went into the Pre-Game Editor, and created two new leagues with an Upper Age of 13 for both: American Peewee, and Canadian Peewee. By my understanding, the Upper Age means the age at which they are then to old to be in that level.
I then added a Team Ontario and placed it in Canadian Peewee. And then added an 11 year-old to the DB and placed him on the Ontario Peewees. I gave him a POT of 160 so as to make him noteworthy enough to the game to hopefully keep him. And then started a new game with the DB.
I forgot to add in a height/weight for him, so I have this 5'6", 200 lb 11 year-old (with a Speed and Aggression of 14, and Acceleration of 16) rampaging through PeeWee's and making parents pull their kids out of youth hockey to get away from him. But the good news is, the game still sees him as 11, playing in a valid league, and kept his age intact as it was entered.
Now as for his team, it's not showing up quite right because I didn't change their colors (all black for everything default)... but that's another story and somethign els ei need to investigate.
The lesson here seems to be you CAN go in and add PeeWees and Atoms so long as a league with the correct age bracket is created for them to play in so that the game does not up their age so it can then place them.
Seems to me entering in a Canadain and American Pee Wee league with maybe only 4 teams each to plop Futures into or something would be reasonable. Same maybe for Atoms/Squirts.
