Official 10-11 NHL Western Conference Regular Season Thread

Post by philou21 »

A message from the TBL Moderating Team:

Owing to the enormous popularity of last year's NHL Regular Season Thread, we have decided to split the discussion for this season into three threads. We hope that by doing this we will be able to encourage greater discussion and build upon the popularity of last season's discussion. We're going to give it a trial run - if things work fine then we'll stick with it. If they don't then we'll merge it all back into one thread. :D

Here is how it is going to work:

1) Official 10-11 NHL Eastern Conference Regular Season Thread - Use this thread to discuss anything relating to Eastern Conference Teams.

2) Official 10-11 NHL Western Conference Regular Season Thread (this thread) - Use this thread to discuss anything relating to Western Conference Teams.

3) Official 10-11 NHL League-Wide Regular Season Thread - Use this thread to discuss anything that relates to the NHL in general. In other words, it's not specific to any particular team/conference/division.

The general idea is that the majority of discussion will take place in the Eastern and Western discussion threads. In most cases, discussion will fall within one or the other. For example, if you want to post something about the Buffalo Sabres then post it in the Eastern discussion thread.

We're not going to be strict in policing within which thread a user chooses to post. For example, if you want to discuss a game involving both a Western and an Eastern team (e.g. LA Kings v New York Rangers) then you may put it in either the Western or Eastern thread - just use your best judgement. Also, we don't mind if there's duplication of discussion between the two threads.

The NHL League-Wide Thread is more of a general thread to discuss league-wide issues and topics. Things like a particular game/team/player wouldn't fall within this thread.

:\ Sucks for the Avs....I was eager to see him start the season after what he'd done at the end of last year.

By the way Svatos as sign in the KHL with the team Jarg is in. Good riddance! He will be happier there.

As for the Wild...give me one good reason they are better than any of the teams above them. There is just no reason to rank them any higher. None.
I think Canucks are gonna finish bottom in the NW. Yes I said it, its only preseason and blahblah, but come one they even lost the divided squad game against Cgy with their better half playing against Cgy's worse half. Luongo is overrated, they haven't that solid D, atleast its prone to injuries.

Wild are only depended on some things, Bäcks needs to pick up his game from last season, but he should be solid, Havlat hopefully will have better year and well Koivu isin't the one of the Sedins but damnit I wanna see him beat 'em swedes hard.

Heh. That may be the worst prediction ever. Wild are dependent upon alot of things. And none of them are any good. These are guys that they always "have to hope" have a good year, no matter what team they play on. And the Sedin's are the Sedin's. They will score. And to be honest...they look like they are skating even better right now.

And anyone who can suggest a roster (when healthy) that looks like this would finish last in ANY division in the NHL is nuts:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Raymond-Kesler-Samuelsson
Torres-Malhotra-xxxxx
Hansen-xxxx-Tambellini
Hordickuck-Rypien

RW xxxx--Cody Hodgson, Tambellini.

C xxxx-Alex Bolduc, or Brendan Morrison if Canucks sign him.

Hamhuis-Erhoff
Edler-Ballard
Salo-Bieksa
O'Brien-Alberts

Good goal by Hossa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGBO1P4f_RE
Although he's not my favorite player I have to admit he really started well. At least good for the Hawks.

Rick Rypien as been suspended indefinitely by the league until he meets Campbell. Good thing! That was such a stupid thing to do by him.

Steve Begin sign a 1 year contract with Nashville. =D>

Sometimes it's not what you do but what you say. My question is why there is no glass barrier there? Just asking for something like this to happen. :dunno:

The guy as been kicked out? Why? Maybe he said something to Rypien and the players told that to the security. :dunno:

Geepers this thread has been silent for a long time. Since philou brought it back to life I better say something, being a westerner and all ;)..... How bout them Canucks? Finally as good in real life as in my Lidas 2 save..... Now if they can win 6 cups and still be a contender in 2025 I'll practically cr*p myself if I'm still alive :-D :-p

Yeah, the whole Wolski trade is weird. Mueller still injured and Wolski struggling... But last season Mueller performed well so I think it was good trade for Avs.

As for Rozsival, he wasn't used in correct way in N.Y. I hope he will improve with Coyotes.
