Heres what are my toughts on what is in fact a guide to probably successful drafting
Q: What league to scout and in what coutry to look for?
A: That was a pain in the you know what because every season i've been sending my troops looking but always ended up with a lot of players missing stats. (preparing for the next draft) The easiest way is to click on one of your draft pick at the start of the season and voilà! All the players available for the next draft are listed SO right click on them and put them in your selection. Assign three or four scouts to your selection and with a more accurated config search and when the draft time come you won't be missing stats anymore! you can still scouts league for older or younger players but YOU WILL BE DRAFT READY
Q: Star rating???
A: It gives the players value and potential. Five and four stars will usually go as first rounders. Some will have nice stats and some not BUT they will all have good trading values after the draft.., Reason NOT to draft a prospect with good star rating and bad stats? Simply cause he won't ever play on your team. Let's be honest. He'll play all his juniors years then you'll sign him he'll play AHL for two or three years then you'll need to sign him again BUT in the mean time you'll have drafted 3 or 4 times or signed or claimed someone better then him, he'll need to clear waivers sooner and he won't have trading value anymore...
YES someone, somewhere had a guy who's stats skyrocketed sometime but he won't talk about the ten others... As for myself it never happened.Q: But what about those who aren't rated and have decent stats?
A: Peter Bondra, Henrik Lundqvist, Daniel Alfredsson, Datsyuk, Zetterberg and the list goes on... JEWEls. Some will become average some good and some very good but THEY WILL PLAY! Lets say one year junior and after that they're AHL ready where they can play half, full or 1 year but what's important THEY WILL PLAY and have above average game ratings.
Q: What about potential?
A: Well you can't see it... unless you cheat... wich i don't. I use what the game gives me, no more. on the other hand you can evaluate it by looking at his career stats combine to what your scouts gives you but that is in fact the joy of drafting, thinking something and be right or wrong you never know.
