Prospect news item question

Sorry, i guess this has been brought up before, but i did a search and couldnt find it via search.

I wanted to know if getting a news item that your player is devleoping well/on the brink to next level etc. , i hope you know what i mean actually has any effects on the player o is it just to inform you he has a good season? Also is there a differnec ebetween 05 and 07 concerning this issue?

i think it just means he had a few good games in a row. Maybe it raises his moral to.
