Trade Deadline Question

Post by hyuganet »

Greetings, this should hopefully be a quick question.

I'm curious about the trade deadline. I've noticed, at least in the junior level, trades take a full day at the minimum to complete. You make an offer, and the next day or a day after that, the other team can accept or deny. I'm worried that won't be able to make some amazing trade at the deadline out of nowhere on the last day, or if I've been working towards one there won't be enough time to make a counter offer. Is there a limitation like this, or do things work a lot faster at either the NHL level or the trade deadline?

My Brandon Wheat Kings are rocking the WHL, though. So far I've had no need to make a trade besides aquiring Setoguchi for cash and a pick. Apparently the Wheat Kings are rich.

Teams respond immediately to offers on the deadline and on draft day.

You, sir, are awesome. Thanks for the tip.

Do other teams trade in real-time, too? Like if you make an offer for someone can another team cut in and make an offer for him, too, thus usurping your efforts?

Well it's not me, rather the programmers :-p

yes all deals are in real time, you can lose your target on the deadline if another team makes a better offer, however I think only if you stop negotiating by cancelling the trade or continuing the game. I don't think other teams can interfere while you're still working on a deal with another team

The game notifies you one week in advance.

I always thought the deadline "trade immediately" thing was bugged, because it certainly doesn't handle trades the same as it does on draft day, where inquiries are responded to right away. I have to line up my offers two days in advance.

This is the reason i wanted to know the exact date cause to have an answer you have to advance from morning to afternoon then night and then to late its over... They should've made this something like a ten sims thingy. The other teams doesn't always answer right back like the draft... wich is in fact the way the trade deadline should've been made so forget the 10 sims thingy lolll...

Each leagues Info screen also gives the dates when trading is allowed so it's easy to see when the trade deadline is at any time of year.
