[Pre Game Editor] Database won't load in the Editor

hey there, ive been editing my database for hundreds of hours in the last few months,and all of a sudden the pre game editor wont load my updated database anymore.my last database save was last night with no issues. now right at the point where it tries to load the staff it reads "access violation at address 00495608 in module "ehm_edit_2007.exe" read of address 445B6794" , does anybody know what this means? i tried deleting and re-downloading the editor,that didnt work.also,i can start a new game with that database without any problems, so i dont think the database is corrupt either. could it possibly just be a staff member that wasnt edited properly,and if so,how would i fix it without being able to use the editor. anyways,any insight would help.......im going nuts here with the thought of wasting all that time getting this database updated

So I'm dumb. And I'm sure the answer is easy, so thanks for your patience in advance.

I'm trying to make a nerfed database where people are generally less skilled. But I can't seem to get the data to take. I load the database in the editor and make my changes. The change I'm using as a measuring stick is Ovechkin's wristshot which I've lowered from 20 to 18. I confirm the change then go file > save. It saves.

BUT! Then I start a new game and go look at Ovechkin and he has a wristshot of 20! And I'm sad.

What am I doing wrong? I'm editing the index file in the database folder, that should be the one that EHM07 loads up automatically right?

You will need to reduce his Current Ability rating too. When the game loads, it adjusts the player's technical attributes if they're too low/high for his CA.

Was hoping someone could help this poster and myself out. I've had this exact problem twice now, and it's frustrating after putting in hours of work.
