Mine would have to be Vaclav Fiser!
He was on the highest wage in my team but had one of the worst records for scoring and assists in my team for an LW
I once signed an 18yr old defenceman because he was the only player I could afford for my Phoenix team. Needless to say, he sucked big time
I was so desperate I nearly signed and SI player
My worst buy was trading for Steve Rucchin. He had two goals in 30 games. The two players I traded for him combined for 15 goals and 46 assists. And he was worth 2.9 Million!
A few people have shared my pain on this one but I signed Bondra to a two year deal which given Minnesota's finances had to be heavily signing-bonus laden to get the deal done so the deal was for 1.1 and 1.2 mil but with a 1.5 mil bonus (he wanted something like 3.5 mil). He took the deal and scored two goals in his first game. He went pointless in the second game and then announced his retirement. I looked for a 'sue player to get back your signing bonus' option but I couldn't find one.

Yep, that's the worst deal I ever heard of, no questions asked. You are the champ in this aspect... hope I'll avoid beating this record
I picked up Darius Kasperitus on waivers, he made a few million a year and didn't produce squat. I wound up waiving him myself and calling up a young guy from Hamilton.
That same year I traded three decent prospects to San Jose for the rights to Alexander Korylyuk. He flat out refused to sign with me and I had to deal him - for much less than I gave up to get him in the first place.
The worst I can remember off hand was dealing a 2nd round pick for Trevor Linden. After 2 weeks I ended up demoting him to the 4th line and he finished with -25ish and less then 20 points.
At least rl "Mad Mike" makes us all look like geniuses .
Not quite sure what my worst deal is tbh, but giving up a 21 old Colten Gillies (i think thats his name) for little return, coz he sucked for me, despite gettting every chance to shine. Only too see him turn into a very good ppg player for another team .
I wanted to trade Tkachuk as he was one of my fav players a couple of years ago. I asked Blues what they wanted and the wanted my 4th, 5th and 6th Rnd Pick in 2006 + Ben Clymer. As Clymer has been the best defender in my team this season I removed him and added Friesen instead. A few days later when the trade was landed I realized I had forgotten to remove the draft picks and I was not aware of the fact that Tkachuk earned darn tootin'' $7.5M/year.
So far he has scored 9 and has 2 ass in 15 games, so he's pretty good but not for that kind of money...
