Lapierre is the only hockey player I have ever seen that intimidates opposition players by smiling. What a s*** eating grin. I believe he leads the playoffs in hits.

Re: Official 10-11 NHL Playoff Thread
I have a buddy who is a huge canucks fan, and I always tell him how much I hate Lapierre. Even as a habs fan, I always hated the smug look on that guy. He is a dirty player who dives and s**t disturbs his way through the game. I can't imagine being an opposition player and having to deal with that fool.
I was so happy the day he was traded to Anaheim. It was for a roll of hockey tape (can't remember if it was for a fifth round or Brett Festerling), but it was so worth it to have him off my team. I'm thinking that there was a reason he had 3 teams this year, really seems like a selfish guy.

Re: Official 10-11 NHL Playoff Thread
Except Mr Racicot...Last year he upped his game in the playoffs with the Habs...and how far did they go?
During the season in Anaheim he was horrible.Same in Vancouver. Then down goes Malhotra. Lapierre steps into the 3rd line role. SInce about game two of the Hawks series he has been outstanding in both ends of the rink. He does anything he has to for his team in the playoffs. Hardly selfish. Not even close. Selfish is Gomez. Lapierre is a role player who is playing amazing hockey in the playoffs.
Every team that wins the cup has a guy that sucked rocks during the regular season, and steps it up come playoff time. Chicago had that last season in Byfuglien, MOntreal had it way back when with Claude Lemieux, Detroit has had it with several guys (Maltby comes to mind, McCarty), Colorado--Chris Drury. Calgary-Peplinski, Otto. Tampa Bay-Khabisievulin. Carolina-Their guy was a rookie who was the backup all year long. Montreal even had it with Halak last year.
Lapierre, Torres, Hansen appear to be those guys in Vancouver this season. Higgins as well. One could even say Bieksa considering how many points he has put on the board.
Anyway...the point of this post was...Lapierre is far from selfish. He is a prick and an a**hole for sure. But his teammates loved him in Montreal and they love him here in Vancouver. Selfish guys don't get that admiration. He is the type of guy every team hates to play against but loves to have. He is no Matt Cooke.

Re: Official 10-11 NHL Playoff Thread
Hell no he is not as bad as Cooke for sure! But yes, he his outstanding in playoffs. The fact I don't like him is the he can't face the music. He does everything to piddle off the other team but when it's time to fight, he is just smiling and telling rubbish or he goes away and players of his team need to fight for or because of him. I remember Bouillon in the past fighting because of him. The only 3-4 times I saw him "fight", he was so horrible it's unbelievable.

AVATAR BET TIME B72.
You have to wear for 3 months with a CANUCKS and Batdad RULE, BRUINS DROOL avatar if Canucks win.
I have to wear Bruins (72) rule B-diddy Drools avatar for 3 months if the Bruins win.
Deal?
Which of course, the Bruins won't. 1972 1972 1972..... vs NEVER NEVER NEVER (1970).
4th and 6th longest without a cup.
1. Toronto (1967)
2. Los Angeles (never-into NHL for 1968 Cup season)
2. St Louis (ties with LA --into NHL for 1968 cup season)
4. Vancouver (into NHL for 1970 cup season-never won)
4. Buffalo (Into NHL for 1970 cup season-never won)
6. Boston (1972)
**california golden seals...moved to cleveland...merged with Minnesota who moved to Dallas, who won a cup..so they are not in the list.
So...interesting. THE BATTLE OF THE PERENNIAL LOSERS!!!!
Also..totally off the subject but tonight..no penalties. First time in 21 years in a game 7 there was no penalties. Amazing what the refs don't see when they don't want to see anything.

Plus, you're hardly around anymore and I'm here almost every day. My avatar would get a lot more face time.

Maholtra will be able to play the Stanley Cup final!
I'm really happy for him, he recovered quicker than I thought, when you think his career was almost finished a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry batdiddy, I despise the Nucks and their fanbase even more than the Habs, so I hope that, in the unlikely event of the Nucks winning, it happens in Boston, and they're pelted with all sorts of stuff from the crowd and can't celebrate infront of their own fans.

No I don't indeed. The Bruins are labelled goons and their fans blood-thirsty animals already anyway. So I choose to embrace it. Being the villain is much better anyway.

I'm going to say Bruins in six!
Mostly beacause i want to hear Jack Edwards go absloutely bats**t crazy because of it!
I'd love to see Sami Salo win the cup though, he's had really, really bad luck throughout his career. All those injuries...
