[retired_numbers.dat][extra_config.cfg] Retired jerseys

Post by y2jericho »

Couple of questions? First how do you retire jerseys in the pre game editor? Using Lidas 3.0, I noticed that for example, Naslund and Linden are marked for retired jerseys effective June 30, 2006, yet I can still select them in game for other players.

Also wondering how to change the Atlanta Thrashers to the Winnipeg Jets, without causing a crash in the game. I took an unassigned team and moved them to the NHL as well as moving the Thrashers out, but it still crashed the game.

I'm not sure, but I think you could use the extra_config.cfg to do it. It's in the database folder. Scroll down to the bottom and it's there. I haven't actually tried it though, but I guess it should work. :)

You can do it in the pregame editor for a player like Linden or Naslund, but it can get tricky. First just try adding them to the extra config file, but add a date at the end (something like this: "RETIRE_JERSEY_NUMBER" "Trevor" "Linden" "Vancouver Canucks" 16 19 9 2006 ). If that doesn't work you can try a few different dates and it still might work. If not, you need to create the player and add him to the team where his number will be retired. You should make very low attributes in case you do a fantasy draft so he won't get picked. Make sure he's the correct #. Set a retire date for the first day or two. Then set a date to retire his number after his retire date. Again, you may have to try a few dates before it will work. It seems very random as to which days will work, but after a while I got all NHL retired numbers correct.
