I know I'm jumping back in the queue here, but I love this pic.

When I was young, there was a promo once where hockey players were on the back of Kraft Dinner boxes (Kraft Mac and Cheese for you Americans). We used to collect them by cutting the backs off of the boxes to make a cardboard hockey card; and for some reason, each card had a recipe on the back.

My mom tried the one on the back of his card back in the mid-90's. The recipe name was Bob Essensa potatoes. I'm not entirely sure if she knows who he is, but either way, when I come home to visit, my mom cooks them regularly and still refers to them as Bob Essensa potatoes.

So, basically, when I see this pic, I see basil covered baked potatoes.

I didn't remember him playing for Carolina so I looked him up. Here's an interesting fact- I always thought of him as an old guy, but it turns out he is 2 years younger (well 18 months) than Roloson...

Girard was a good young player just starting to come into his own. It's a shame he was injured in that car wreck. Broke his pelvis, IIRC. His style of play would have really done well in the new NHL.
