There is 2018 year in my save and there are many 23-27 years old defensemans with positioning 5-9. Other their skills are better (13-16).

I'm sorry if I came across in a bad way, I guess I was just trying to say that it's not a bug. There are a lot of players that have random attributes when they are regenerated and that's probably what leads to all of the low numbers. I've seen players around the same year that you're playing with 1's and 2's as well. 1 Bravery, 2 Strength, 2 Balance, etc.

I guess my only advice is to not draft/sign them. :-p

Quick question. If someone retires, lets say Mats Sundin, but he takes a coaching job or scout job (whatever), will his player be regenerated when he is still a coach or will I have to wait for him to retire as a coach to get him back regenerated into the game as a player?

He gets regenerated as a player when he retires as one, no matter whether he becomes a coach or not.

I was wondering if anyone knows who this player might be? He's tearing up the league in his first season with 115 points and winning the Calder and Conn Smythe.

Image

His height and weight translates to 6-foot-2 and 172 Ibs. He's Canadian and right-handed.

What's his consistency? And what database are you using?

Consistency is 19, and I'm using a swedish roster update with the latest updates from the trade deadline called systemfel_dahlgren.

The easiest way to find out who's regen he is, is this:

blueshirtnParis wrote:And I find it quite simple to figure out who is a regen of who...
  • Look up player in question in your saved game editor
    Then open the pre-game editor
Filter pregame editor to nationality and main position to fit the player in question
Also start to filter potential ability with -15 to -15
Then compare the players found in the pregame to the player in question.
(If no player is found, change to -14 to -14, or 140 to 200, etc...you get the idea.
The following should be exactly the same
  • Height
    Weight
    Shoot/Catches
Position value (LD,RD, LW, C, RW)
    Offensive Role Defensive Role

Thanks for the advice, helped a bunch. I have to draw the conclusion that Gallagher Luis is a randomly generated player because there is no match for him in the database. He also seems to be a bit of a generational player - he has a potential ability of 199!

I also found out that I have regens of Eric Lindros and Bill Guerin on my roster. So thanks a lot!

Are there randomly generated players?

I never heard about that, but my Junior World Cup scout has found a netherland player with 147 PA, while that isnt extremly good i think its surprising for a dutchmen, so i was wondering who's regen he could be but there is no one...

Know it's early still in my DB, but was wondering if anyone might have a clue who these regens are if they are? Using the Lidas DB 3.0.

To be honest, none of them look very good to me. A few green attributes just don't do it.

Was a weak draft class in general, especially compared to the year before where I pulled 2 NHL ready players and the Hasek regen. Nobody really stood out, except the first 5 picks overall. After my first two picks, I just followed my scouts, Assistant GM and Head coach on who they thought.

He's nobody important. He can't skate, or what I mean is he can't stay on his skates. His Creativity is abysmal.

Don't waste your time just because he a regen has a few green attributes!

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, because i already know who's regen he is. But he is a regen so i think its ok to post it here.

My Question is, do you guys think he can become a star player? Of course his technical attributes are already very good and he will get better.

The problem are his physical attributes! As you can see balance and speed sucks...

Bravery and creativity are also bad but i dont think that matters for a goaltender.

So... any opinions on him?

I would sign him and see what happens. Then let us all know. I pretty much don't care who I have in net (as many who play challenges can attest to)...as I make horrible horrible goalies into superstars somehow someway..even with bad attributes. Petr Budaj won like 15 Vezinas for me or something.

I had a goalie like the one above who became a star. But it was because of my tactics and the way I battle defensively.

Tip of the day: After a goal is scored on you..in between periods...switch something in tactics. Breakout, anything..I usually switch positional vs collapse dzone play. It has dramatically dropped my goals against. If you do it after every goal is screws you...guys get confused. But between periods it seems to help ALOT>

Did I just give away my secret? Bah..noone will find it.

I've seen this player popup in the last few db updates in the first round of regens. My only guess as to who he could be is Evgeny Arthukin, but he's still active isn't he?? Anyone know who he's a regen of?

Oh boy my Hasek Regen is beyond terrible:

Image

At least i got another one who i think is Khabibulin. He looks quite good, i got him at #137 at advise of my head scout

Image

I also got Lidstrom, he was too good to overlook but my coaches say he has got a terrible attidue (guess I am just unlucky with regens)

Image

Brodeur is coming up for the next draft but he aint looking too good either:

Image

I also was able to get Fedorov. It was quite unuasal, as i was looking how my guys in the A were doing. One guy was outdoing them with a 9.4 rating so i inquired and got him for a 4th and a 5th without knowing who he was

Image

Now I have got some guys where i need your help, havent found out whos regen it could be:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

The next one is an interesting guy. He cant do Sh!t on my farm team, but as soon as i put him in as my 3rd line center he is putting up games with Ratings of 8 or 9 in bunches, on the 4th line he is just an below avg guy as you can see from the ratings. Too bad i signed Fisher as my 3rd line Center for 2.6m this year ](*,). Really cant make him out but he seems like a keeper.

Image

And another intersting guy. 2y ago he was rated the top defenseman in the league at the beginning of the season with like 50 games under his belt but he cant seem to crack it with Weber and Chara in front of him
