Sorry if that was unclear i'm not that good at speaking english.
Yes, that's possible using the Pre Game Editor. What you mean is, for example we have the real life 2011/12 season (which is what would appear in game as the 06/07 season due to the fixed start date) and you want to put the previous season's player history/stats into the database (i.e. from the real life 2010/11 season) then you could set it in the database as player history for the in game 05/06 season. However, every season you would have to go into the database and alter the season data for each entry of player histories. So for the 2012/13 season roster update you would have to go through each player and move the real life 2010/11 stats/history to the in game 04/05 season history in order to allow you to put the real life 2011/12 stats into the in game 05/06 season history.

I'm sorry if I've made it sound complicated! In summary, yes you could do what you suggest but it is big task that is made even bigger every season.

I have little problems with roster updates. I just got the game so I don't really know how it works and I hope that someone could help me.

So, I downloaded the roster update and did everything I needed to (okay, I had little problems to get the file in to the database, so I just copied it and deleted the old one...)
Then I tryied to start a new game and this kind of error happened: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/402/kuvap.png/

So what can I do? I hope I don't have wrong version, but if I do, what is the newest roster update for that? Or can I get the newest version from somewhere even the game isn't sold anymore?

Thanks for your help!

PS. Sorry my English, I'm from Finland.

Pulla,

This is a question that has been asked more times that can possibly be counted, but since you ask politely, well...

First you make sure you have the game updated to the latest version (3.04 patch was the latest one, there should be one available in the downloads section around here). Then you download the roster updates. You unzip them and get a folder named, say, LidasDB3.2. You put this folder (the whole folder, with all the database files inside) INTO the original database folder (filepath: whereveryouputEHM/NHL EHM 2007/data/database), next to the original database files. Now when you opt to start a new game, you should get a menu allowing you which database to use. Et voilà.

Then you can head on to the Arrivals section and introduce yourself. And next time you do a search. ;)

You know, you probably are one of the last few people lucky enough tto actually get the game... :-(

Thank you very much Círyatan and sorry that I had to ask the same question again. Of course I didnt have the latest version and that's why I had those problems, but now all works like should..... I feel like stupid, but that's not the first time, because I'm not very good with computers..

Nice, barely had time to use 3.1 !!!

p.s. nicely handled with the "crack", I've actually bought it twice now due to using my first 3 installs and not being able to to reuse any. Burns my arse when people can't even buy it once !!! For all the years of use it's well worth the $35.

You know you can reinstall it on another computer if you unlicense the game on one of the computers. Unless you're running the game on several computers, you shouldn't have had to buy it more than once.

You can always ask eLicense to reset your licenses/installs if you ever lose any of them. They're a really good company - they normally reset everything within 24 or 48 hours.

I think my problem might have been that the one computer was gone so I couldn't uninstall it as I couldn't get it back and I had wiped stuff out, when I did the Elicense I got to the end and it said something to the effect of I'd used all 3 and couldn't do it. No biggy, I've been playing for years so there was no way I wasn't getting it again ! :)

I ran into the same problem as well. I lost the three through a combination of a hard drive crash, a dead laptop and I foolishly forgot to uninstall before upgrading my Linux (I used to run one install in Windows and one in Linux). I contacted eLicense via their site's contact form and they reset my installs/licenses within 24 hours. Thank goodness for that! :D

Just a head's up, but San Jose's budget has mysteriously dropped to over ten million below the salary cap, which makes the game unplayable with them. You might want to fix that, considering they've been spending to the cap for years now.

Since there are lots of FAs not signed in this db, the budgets get fluffed up. Teams have to spend to their budget to have it work in game. I never thought about this when I made this version.
In the next version they'll have a full team and probably spend close to the cap

It s quite good, but now , when i finallly got to play it, i have to update these rosters manually ( i have to play on obsolete starting rosters ! ). But it s not so important

But the Czech and Slovakian rosters, and generally European rosters are very unreliable - there are missing trades long time before this zip was released...

That s my part of feedback :) If You can do something about it, i would appreciate it. By the way, You are doing a great unique job !

My team is on it. I cannot guarantee Czech and Slovak leagues get done in the first release due to time. They will be done eventually, I guarantee. My researcher (Weissy) did a great job last year and I expect to get the same this year.

The 3.2 was just an "in-between" release in case anyone wanted to try NHL free agency

Good evening gentleman. I have locked and loaded this fantastic database. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it. But I do have a question. I have not advanced a day yet, but I notice that the CAP is still 44.0M and I am about 7.0M over the Cap before I even start signing my RFA's. Is this by design or is my game incorrect...

Thanks for your help and my appologizes if this has been answered before.

Hmm? I thought we had changed that. Sorry
In data/database there is a file called transfer_rules_config. Open that and write in the correct salary cap and save. Then you have to start a new game for it to be working, of course

No need for you to appologize, you efforts are vastly appreciated....

Now my followup question and again excuse me if I should know this... With what software to I open the config file with? I am assuming it would be the game editor?

My fault, it was programed correctly, I saved your database in the same folder as the default one and the game tried to establish the original CAP....

Thanks again..
