Yes it would. Archi is saying the patch only works for the downloaded version 3.04 with the right stuff at this time. He is going to look into doing one for cd version, but has not had time at this point. At least I believe that is the story if you read the correct threads, instead of just posting. :-D

You must've missed the part where I said I had read the thread... maybe next time you'll read through my post. :-D

No worries Konstantinov. I was recently given a CD copy of EHM and so I hope to be able to create a version of the patch for the CD. I might get started on it this weekend.

I'm going to rewrite the patch code from scratch and will redesign the UI so that it gives a bit more information about what is and isn't working. I think I should be able to get it to auto-detect which edition of EHM is running (i.e. eLicense or CD-ROM) so that it can apply the correct version of the patch automatically. At least that's my plan... :-D

Ok so I had my first crash with the patch. It occured on October 17th 2012. I started out unemployed, with all leagues on enhanced. I have used the patch to open it every time. I was GM of the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, and just finished the 2nd season exhibition games, I have a feeling the Top 10 in each position news items were to be there the next day as my first regular season game was to be on Oct. 21st.

Now it was just a generic windows 'This program has stopped working' message. And of course my last saved game was on Sept. 1st...so I've started it up again and will see if it was a fluke or if it crashes at the same point. This time (since I was into Sept.) I didn't use the patch to start the game....I will let you know how it goes.

Have you been reloading the game after 1 July using the Patch? If you reload the game after 1 July and you use the Patch then you're likely to see a crash.

Glad to hear you got it sorted! :)

Are you running the Finnish league at all? If you missed out applying the patch when you reloaded your game then you'll encounter a crash on 29 June if you've got the Finnish league running. It relates to the hardcoded change in the number of teams in Suomi Sarja after season 1.

Do you mean the Patch changes the start date with the CD ROM version if you're using XP?

I've received the following PM but as it relates to something that ought to belong in this thread I'll reply here:
Sushamiboy wrote:Is it normal that all the ages get changed? I wanted to use the Lidas 3.2 rosters but all of a sudden all the players are 5 years older than they should be and it really affects the way they develop. Also it made me lose the rights to so many players because of their age. I'm very baffled as to if this is intentional.
It's because the Lidas v3.2 rosters had all of the players aged by five years to allow the 2011/12 season to be simulated using the game's hardcoded 2006/07 start date. Have a read through this thread and/or read this post: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =23&t=8285

I don't no. What is the CD version? I have a CD Rom with EHM 2007 and a demo with a baseball manager. I install the EHM2007 .exe and then I have to activate my license number. Otherwise, there's only a demo. Surely you mean but a different CD? :nerd:

As a matter of fact, I have the CD version as well (comes with OOTPB) and I had no problems using the CSD patch. :-D

I'm guessing Djskek and Leeman are referring to a CD version of OOTP that they own. Presumably that CD came with a Try'n'Buy eLicense demo of EHM. It's not technically the CD ROM version of the game; it's the eLicense version they have (it's just that the game came on a CD).

The real CD version is the one that doesn't require any online activation at all.

I have the CD version of EHM 07, and that requires a online activation from e-license.

Custom Start Date Patch

Viking wrote:I have the CD version of EHM 07, and that requires a online activation from e-license.
Oh really? I'm getting very confused now! :-D

I was recently given a CD copy of the game and it was suggested that it would work regards of whether it or not eLicense was still around. When testing the CD ROM edition of the game, I've simply replaced my eLicense exe with the exe a user emailed me. The exe seems to work fine so long as my EHM CD is in the drive (perhaps it is because I have an activated version of EHM already installed?). However when I look at the game's data using ArtMoney it is very different.

Have you tried using my CSD Checker, Viking?

Ok, tried it:

This is what it looks like when I use the CSD-patch:

Edit: Probably should have posted this in "Custom Start Date Patch: Questions, Errors and Help".

The CD-rom version does not require any activation and has nothing to do with E-license.

I have never owned any other version than the CD-rom version, and have never had to activate anything.

I am pretty sure people are mistaken the real CD-rom version, with an E-license install on another CD-rom - as you said.

No, I am not mistaking anything. I have the real EHM 07 CD rom version, and I have to activate it with e-license.

I don't mean to question what version anybody has, but the CSD Checker does show that you've got the eLicense version. The CSD Checker has a section at the top entitled Version Check and Edition Check. This looks in the game data within a certain location in the RAM and prints it on screen. The particular locations it looks at are locations I know that always have the text 3.0.4 and eLicense if you have the eLicense edition. The CD ROM version doesn't have the word "eLicense" anywhere in the RAM IIRC. If you load the CSD Checker with the CD ROM version then you'd get something like this:

Image

So it looks like you have the eLicense version... :-? Futhermore, the screenshot you posted shows that the 2006s are in the same place as the eLicense version and the patch is able to make the changes - but it's having no effect in game. Could you try steps 1-9 from the following post and email me the results: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 11#p129011

Thanks, I will do that as soon as I get the time. I work 24/7 right now.

I'm starting to think I am confusing EHM 2007 with EHM 2005. I know I have a boxed EHM with a CD somewhere in this den, but when I think of it, EHM 2007 never asks me to insert a CD when I start it. I have had it installed on one of my hard drives since I got it, and that was a long while ago. Maybe I have the e-license version after all. At least I had to email e-license in September and ask them to reset one of my licenses to play the game again.

I blame my age. The brains start to decline when you turn 40.

Edit: It was less work than I expected. I'll email the file to you now.

That could explain things.

I've taken a quick look at your emailed AMT file and it looks as though the Patch really ought to work for you. I'll take a closer look either tomorrow or Wednesday when I have some spare time and will have a think where to go from here. I've got an idea of what to try next but I need to find time to type up the instructions. As with the other instructions, it might look like quite a lot of work but it actually only takes about a minute to carry out.

This is very strange, but hopefully we can figure this out.
