Unable to find the ATLANTA THRASHERS index

Post by kjc »

Hey everyone.

I changed the Thrashers to Jets on my own using pregame editor. I get the above error message when I start a new game. I can start the game anyway with no problems, but it's a little annoying and I'd like to fix it. All I did was change the team name.

What is the cause and how can I rid of it?

Thanks

The cause is just that. You changed the team name.
The game looks for certain team names when starting up.
The solution is to create a new team called Atlanta Thrashers. It also needs the TM afterwards like all NHL teams have

Hello

The game doesn't like it when you remove teams from the database (especially NHL teams).
You can "swap" teams, but keep the team you're removing in the database (IIRC you can make them Defunct; I myself have created "defunct leagues" to put the "defunct teams" in)

You do know the latest and greatest Manimal rosters have this switch done? And LOTS more!

Yes. The only reason I am doing it myself is because I want accurate 2006 rosters but with the Jets already present.

I didn't think I removed the team -- I just renamed it. I don't believe you can create another team named thrashers, there has to be 30 teams and no more, correct?

I meant you can create a team called Atlanta Thrashers (TM) and have them in the db but not in any league

Since you already replaced Atlanta with Winnipeg, go under the unused teams and rename the other Winnipeg Jets team Atlanta Thrashers.

Thanks for the help everyone.

What I ended up doing was i "retired" the Thrashers by removing them from the NHL and any other league. Then I took all the players and staff from ATL and put them on my new club, Winnipeg Jets. I then removed ATL's affiliations and gave them to Winnipeg. That fixed the problem.

Thanks

That is not necessary. Are you sure you have the Atlanta Thrashers in the db(though, not assigned to a league or nation)?

Also note that there must be the TM trademark symbol in the team's name. I.e. your dummy Thrashers team should be named Atlanta Thrashers™.
