Yup. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Turkey is very important if you want this game to run correctly. I know stuff, you know...Círyatan wrote:What the heck is a puter? All I found is "a male turkey" in German. (link)

No. Frustrating is when the person you were trying to help doesn't even bother to read what you write. Now I have legitimately no idea what you are talking about. Re: EHM crashes when selecting a database for a new game
To be clear. First you installed the game. Then you installed the patch. Then you put the database into the correct folder, right?
Now, if you want your game to start in the 2011-12 season, you need the CSD patch, here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =88&t=8283

Re: EHM crashes when selecting a database for a new game
Here's how it works for me (and I'm thinking you too)The Avenger wrote: started game, set options to max data
started new season, it came on right away, no asking me any additional options, just the standard North America sept6 2003?
1. The game loads up, and on the main screen you can select "Preferences" (where you selected max data) and you can select "New Game" - when you select New Game you are given a choice of which database to use (if you don't get this choice you haven't patched the game)....then the game loads for a bit
2. Then you are on the "Select Leagues" page (and the standard NA start date is August 30, 2006), where you select the league(s) you want to.....then the game loads for a bit
3. Then you are on the "Add General Manager" page, where you select the team you will be the GM of....then the game loads for a short time
4. Then you are on the "GM Status" page where if you select "Finish" the game loads for a bit and then you are actually in-game!
Your explanation seems to state that you skipped steps 2, 3 and 4!
The Avenger wrote:ok, so i downloaded patch, save as, picked EHM folder, database....done
The patch should have went in the data folder, not the database foldernino33 wrote:For me I'd save it in C Drive/Program Files (x86)/Sports Interactive/data.......then I'd go in and double-cick on it

Excuse me, but have you been reading everything up to this point or are you just trolling me? Most of the people here have been pretty patient with me, as NO ONE has seen these issues i am going through before. I can read a 500 page manual how to fly a helicopter but if the ending instructions is the beginning and the beginning is the middle, etc, etc it ain't going no where kid.Círyatan wrote:No. Frustrating is when the person you were trying to help doesn't even bother to read what you write. Re: EHM crashes when selecting a database for a new game
You're not being very specific on what is going on, really. For a while there I thought your game was working fine, but now it's not? It's very hard to help, when you don't give specifics on what you do and what happens when you do it. What kind of errors you're getting and at what point. What happens when you click on files, and how you try to run them. What advice have you've taken and followed, and what have you not tried yet... did you get the patch to work already or not? Stuff like that...
It's very hard to try to help someone without being able to try it yourself, see for yourself what's happening. Trial and error is how stuff like this gets solved, but the only one who can do that, is you.

There's no way it could be 2003 start date. If you're using EHM 2007 it should be 2006, not 2003.

Re: EHM crashes when selecting a database for a new game
Only if you patch the game to version 3.0.4 will you get the option of choosing your database. Assuming you have it in the right folder (the database folder).

I'm still wondering how is it that you have a start date of 2003. Are you sure you have EHM 2007, and not some earlier version?
Could you show me the link from where you downloaded the game from?

FYI I too have felt a little frustrated trying to help you (because your expalnations are vague/contradictory)The Avenger wrote:Most of the people here have been pretty patient with me
No, you haven't...The Avenger wrote:Please read what i have been doing, i went through it point by point
Your words here indicate you haven't "run" (double-clicked) on the patch like you've been instructed to doThe Avenger wrote:downloaded patch, saved as in data

So far my best guess is you're repeatedly putting things in the wrong folders & you're not running the patch.....perhaps I'm wrong, but IMO you're not encountering anything new/specialThe Avenger wrote: NO ONE has seen these issues i am going through before
I take it you're older? To be honest I thought maybe you were really young, and that's why you were having troubles...The Avenger wrote:etc, etc it ain't going no where kid

Really? A CD version? If I remember correctly it was possible to get a cd version of it, if you request one, but generally the game was distributed by digital download. Re: EHM crashes when selecting a database for a new game
EHM 2007 is the last version of the game that came out, and it is what people have been creating/updating databases for for the last five years.
EHM 2005 is still played "online" as it's more stable and allows for 30 human GMs (EHM07 only allows for 16).
EHM 2004 was the first real official release (and I've never seen anything posted about it, as it's pretty old and out-of-date); EHM actually started around 2000 as Freeware
You don't have EHM 2007.......or even EHM 2005.......you bought EHM 2004

Re: EHM crashes when selecting a database for a new game
No worries. Should've seen it when you said the start date was 2003. You can get the 2007 version from the link in my post above yours. Then just do what we already instructed you to do: install the game, install the patch, install the rosters. Good luck and welcome to TBL!
