And Keith has already heard from the NHL about a hearing. There was intent there and I'm thinking a suspension is coming from Shanahan. If Daniel's out for an extended period of time, it's game over for the Canucks this year. Hoping that it's not the case

Re: Official 11-12 NHL Regular Season Thread
Yep. But Daniel brought it on himself with his jump hit into Keith's head a little earlier in the game. Daniel if he was not injured would likely have to have a chat with the NHL as well. It was an ugly game. Emotions between these two teams are powder kegs.
Love Keith to Kassian "nice addition you were to this team, what do you do?"
But Keith should get 3 games, same as Doan. More obvious dirty hit, and not repeat offender.
The other funny thing in this game was watching Henrik and Bolland stand around while everyone else was slapping each other. A bunch of slap fights. With Bieksa running around and making sure he got a bit of everyone except Seabrook and Shaw. Typical Bieksa.
Burrows-Kane....bwah. Too funny.
Seabrook-Kassian...Kassian skates away, not good...what is the deal with that Mr K? Should have been dropping them there.
At least Burr did not bite or pull hair this time.
This was a good sign for Vancouver....but they have a long way to go. And if Daniel is out....oh boy...they are done.

Yeah probably! Sedin's hit wasn't a legal one and he was the first who did it, still, Keith one got more consequences so he the on in the trouble. That's just bad that they have come with those hits because the rivalry CHI/VCR seems to be a really good one, something we don't see that much now in the NHL.batdad wrote:Yep. I just came across this...while it's the KHL, it is Radulov who's just returned to the NHL.....hitting his coach with his stick! Does anyone know anything more about this?

If I remember correctly he was widdled off about some play (possibly missing the net or something), went to whack his stick on the boards behind him, but WHOOPS coach was there.

That was a while ago! I saw it on TV, that's not something we see often.

What a disastrous game beginning for the Sens! 3-0 Habs with only 5:30 into the first period and Cole has the three goals. If the Sens wish to make the playoffs they better wake up soon.

Apparently Duncan Keith got 5 games for the elbow on Danny Sedin.
I love Keith, he's a great defenceman, one of the best in the league. Never seen anything that dirty from him. Hopefully it was just a oncer. Boy, what an ugly game that was.

Re: Official 11-12 NHL Regular Season Thread
Retaliation. Keith got exactly what is deserved. I was hoping he would not get playoff games. But at the same time he has done similar after he has been hit. Google dirty Keith hits and there are 3. None got suspensions under old system, but at least one was a clear retaliation for a hit he had taken earlier in the shift. And oh yeah, it's an elbow to the head.
Keith does not take well to being hit. He has not been through much of his life because is always able tO avoid. When he does get hit hard he reacts. All the time.

Re: Official 11-12 NHL Regular Season Thread
There will be an important press conference in Quebec City this afternoon. I'm almost 95% sure this is not involving a relocation of an NHL team but at least they should announce that the new arena will start to be build soon. I really hope this is it, this case has gone for far too long now.
Edit: This is official, the construction for the new arena will begin in september. I was hoping this will be earlier but anyway, at least they gonna start it!

Re: Official 11-12 NHL Regular Season Thread
Excellent! Way to go Quebec City. Except....how many tax $$ (or is it francs?) are going into the building of the rink. How much of that is provincial, how much from the city taxpayer and how much from the federal government. I hope NOT A PENNY....but I bet it is well over a penny.

Re: Official 11-12 NHL Regular Season Thread
If I remember correctly it'a gonna be half and half between Quebec City and the provincial. As for the taxes, if the arena doesn't make any money then the people of Quebec City will need to pay the deficit. BUT, I'm not sure at all. Maybe YZG knows more about it since he's from Qc City.

Re: Official 11-12 NHL Regular Season Thread
Wow that is some of the most weird rumor I've seen on TV. A message popped up and it was saying, "Some Yotes players were told to start to learn french."
How in the world is this reliable? Ridiculous if you ask me.

All of us here will probably be able to do better anyway.
The new guy Kadri should apply for the job, look how well he built the Leafs in his EHM game.

Manimal, philou is not bilingual enough. I mean come on .... he was talking about the Manitoba Mooses just the other day.
Plus:
1. He hates the Habs
2. He would never allow Bob Gainey to tell him what to do.
